My nose has been crooked for the last 15 years or so. I had a septoplasty at 17 to improve breathing issues, but I was unable to fix the cosmetic issues with my nose. I hate how crooked my nose is as well as how far down my nose projects when I smile. I just want to understand realistically what could be done to fix it. For context I don’t know exactly how it became crooked, my parents tell me that it was broken while playing sports.
Answer: Nasal tip and nostril asymmetry may be due to a deviated nasal septum. Based on your photos, your columella appears to be off the midline to the right side. This is associated with nostril asymmetry on front view, and a small indentation along the side wall of your nose on the left side. Is difficult to comment on what type of treatment you would need without being able to examine your. Depending on your examination, revision rhinoplasty surgery may be considered for achieving a straighter and less distracting nasal appearance. Please consider meeting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Nasal Tip Asymmetry Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. The characteristics of your nasal tip appear consistent with the description from your parent’s account, suggesting that the asymmetry may be related to a cartilage fracture resulting from a sports injury. Focused moderate-energy impacts to the nasal tip can indeed cause fractures of the domes of the lower lateral cartilages, leading to the shape you are experiencing. It is possible to correct this cartilage asymmetry surgically, often with the assistance of grafts. These grafts can be sourced from the nasal septum, but in some post-traumatic situations, rib cartilage grafts may be necessary to achieve better control over the shape and stability of the reconstructed tip. Computer simulations can be a useful tool for defining your aesthetic goals regarding rhinoplasty. However, it is important to understand that while the surgical outcome may closely resemble these simulations, it will not be identical due to the natural variability in healing and tissue behaviour.

Answer: Fixing a crooked nose Thank you for posting your question here!My answer will be based on the limited information and pictures provided, for a detailed and personalized plan please consult with a plastic surgeon in person. Many factors can lead to a crooked nose, including crooked nasal bones, crooked septum etc , it is hard to tell the culprit without an exam. A rhinoplasty +/- septoplasty can address those issues. but depending on what was done prior this will dictate how extensive the surgery will be, but you will likely benefit from surgery.I hope this helps!, best of luck!

Answer: Rhinoplasty You would benefit from a rhinoplasty. Your nose is slightly asymmetrical and you have some contour irregularities dorsally. Also, the base of the nose is too wide and will need to be pulled in. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
