Most patients can safely shave with an electric razor within about 1 to 2 weeks after open rhinoplasty, once the initial swelling and tenderness improve. For a haircut, it's usually fine around the 2-week mark, provided you’re careful to avoid accidental bumps or pressure on the nose.

Your surgeon can advise you on the right timeline for your particular healing progress, since some patients may need a little longer before resuming normal grooming activities.

After an open rhinoplasty, it’s usually safe to get a haircut or shave with an electric razor after 1–2 weeks, once swelling has reduced and stitches are removed. You can shave and get a haircut anytime after a rhinoplasty procedure. Much more important is to choose your surgeon based on extensive experience with rhinoplasty, since this surgery is the most difficult procedure to perform correctly in the entire field of cosmetic surgery. In our practice, we only perform closed rhinoplasty, not open rhinoplasty, which avoids the external scar on the on your nose. In addition, there's no painful packing and all the incisions are placed on the inside of the nose.
