I developed a vertical bulge above my belly button after two c sections more than 10 years ago. The bulge is about 0.5 cm wide and 4 cm long, in the strange shape of a surgical cannula. No procedure was done in the region except for c sections. I don’t have diastasis recti per my OBGYN doctor. What could have caused this bulge (a surgical cannula at the c section time?)? Can it be fixed? Thanks.
Answer: Vertical bulge above my belly button & how can it be fixed? Such changes in this area can be expected from recti diathesis post pregnancy. These can be improved with either liposuction to the area or by fat transfer ti improve the contour deformity. You dont need a full tummy tuck to correct this contour deformity.

Answer: Tummy tuck thigh lift mastopexy arm lift buttock augmentation buttock lift bodylift exper Thank you for your question regarding a strange vertical bulge in the shape of a surgical cannula above your belly button, period. I am unsure what this defect caused since I don't perform C sections. I would suggest treating this with liposuction by removing fat around this defect area. This area can be camouflaged. A tummy tuck is too radical to treat this condition which can probably be corrected with liposuction. Thank you for your question regarding a prominent surgical bulge shaped like a cannula. If you have any more questions regarding reconstructive surgery after massive weight loss, please contact my office. Reconstructive surgeries after massive weight loss include an abdominoplasty, tummy tuck, thigh lift, breast lift, mastopexy, arm lift, brachioplasty, torsoplasty, back lift, buttock augmentation, and buttock lift. Since these reconstructive surgeries after massive weight loss, are big procedures, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing these types of lifts. Do your research. Make sure they have performed at least 100 of each procedure you are considering for reconstructive surgery after massive weight loss. Make sure they have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf.

Answer: Vertical bulge above my belly button & how can it be fixed? Hello @Original841687, thank you for your question. This is an area of different shapes at a muscular level. In the case that you did not undergo a Liposculpture, but the form of the bulge has a canula shape, it may be due to muscle separation. If you are considering a breast explantation, consultation with a plastic surgeon who is experienced in this procedure is essential to ensure optimal results. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.

Answer: Vertical bulge It's hard to say what would cause the vertical bulge that's demonstrated in your photos. It's unlikely that it is directly related to instrumentation from your c-section. It could possible a contour irregularity comprised of fat or maybe scar tissue. I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for an evaluation.

Answer: Abdominal contour irregularity after C-section There wouldn't be a cannula or any other instrument used in the upper abdomen with a C-section. If it isn't a diastasis then it is just an irregularity of the subcutaneous fat. See a plastic surgeon for options.
