Vertical bulge (in shape of surgical cannula) above my belly button & how can it be fixed? (Photos)

In the case that you did not undergo a Liposculpture, but the form of the bulge has a canula shape, it may be due to muscle separation. Thank you for your question regarding a strange vertical bulge in the shape of a surgical cannula above your belly button, period. I am unsure what this defect caused since I don't perform C sections. I would suggest treating this with liposuction by removing fat around this defect area. This area can be camouflaged. A tummy tuck is too radical to treat this condition which can probably be corrected with liposuction. Thank you for your question regarding a prominent surgical bulge shaped like a cannula.

Such changes in this area can be expected from recti diathesis post pregnancy. These can be improved with either liposuction to the area or by fat transfer ti improve the contour deformity. You dont need a full tummy tuck to correct this contour deformity.

There wouldn't be a cannula or any other instrument used in the upper abdomen with a C-section. If it isn't a diastasis then it is just an irregularity of the subcutaneous fat. See a plastic surgeon for options.

Thank you for your question. It’s unclear what could’ve caused this bulge. However it may be some scar tissue from your pregnancy or C-section. If you are candidate for a tummy tuck, or a mini, and it is hard to tell based on your picture This area can be freed up and re-draped to appear more flat and to figure out what is causing the contour irregularity. Also, liposuction around that area may improve the contour by blending it with the surroundings tissue. Good luck.

Thanks for posting your pictures, An additional side view picture would have been helpful. It is difficult to figure out what is the cause of the elongated bulge deformity above the belly button , without direct physical examination. My best guess without the benefit of examining you is that it is fat irregularity, which should respond well to aggressive cress cross liposuction with multiple entry points for optimal outcome. Another possibility is weakness of the muscle's fascia and in that case tummy tuck might be indicated.
Always consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeon who operate in accredited surgical facility for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of either abdominal liposuction or tummy tuck in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive.

It is extremely rare for women to undergo aesthetic abdominal contouring procedures at the time of birthing a baby. And if you were not consented for it, there is 99.9% chance it did not happen. It would be highly unusual for an ob to do lipo at the time of a Csection, plus a lipo cannula would cause a divet, not a bulge.
It is more likely that this area is in fact an abdominal muscle weakness or hernia. I would recommend you see a board certified plastic surgeon to evaluate this. You can find one at plasticsurgery.org.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Without an in-person examination it is difficult to comment but I would anticipate that the current appearance is a combination of loose skin and either diastasis or overall muscle fascia laxity. No cannulas should have been used during a csxn to account for this. I do think it can be improved but would likely require a full tummy tuck procedure with its scarring, at the tradeoff of a smoother, flatter, more cinched in appearance.

It's hard to say what would cause the vertical bulge that's demonstrated in your photos. It's unlikely that it is directly related to instrumentation from your c-section. It could possible a contour irregularity comprised of fat or maybe scar tissue. I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for an evaluation.
