How much for just a tummy tuck? What is the down time?

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  If you are an appropriate candidate for a tummy tuck, this can be done through a low and short
incision, all completely below the bikini line. 
The belly button can be designed to look natural and have no scars on
the exterior.   Your muscles can also be
plicated resulting in a flat abdomen.  Recovery is usually 2 weeks to return to work.  Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise. 
Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of
real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate
their results.  The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are
comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified
board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Hello!There is no "garden variety" tummy tuck - the types and lengths of incision, use of liposuction, muscle tightening - make each procedure individualized. If you have not yet met with a board certified plastic surgeon, you should - just to get an idea of what procedure would be best for you. Downtime depends on the procedure. I tell my patients they should be driving and doing non strenuous activities in 1 week, and walking is encouraged right away. Time off work can vary from 1-4 weeks depending upon the patient and his/her work situation.As far as cost, it varies a great deal region to region, and of course depending on the specific procedure performed. Anything that seems to low of a price - or too high of a price - should raise concern. There are great financing programs too, in case that might be helpful.Best of luck!
