There are going to be a lot of answers to this question and I think that many of my colleagues will shy away from the right answer. Here is how I feel about this personally. There are many nurses and PA's who are excellent injectors and have stellar reputations. So with that said, being a great injector is only part of the equation. Knowing how to handle the potential and inevitable complications of any procedure that you perform as a health care provider is really the essential issue. I didn't spend 6 years in training to only learn how to operate and inject. I spent time in training and early in my career learning how to handle any and all of the potential complications that will inevitably occur if you are an active surgeon or injector. Does a weekend or even a week long course provide an injector with that skill set? Do those courses teach you how to critically evaluate a face and understand the complex anatomy of that face? Probably not. I have an amazingly talented PA and know some terrific nurse injectors, but they have a relationship with a facial plastic surgeon, dermatologist, or plastic surgeon so that if there is a complication it can be managed appropriately. Do your homework first.
Thank you for your question. It is safe to have an RN or BSN perform injections. The most important thing is that these injectors are experienced and properly trained. Please do sufficient research when selecting an injector in your local area.
Yes, you can have lip fillers with an RN, but I would make sure they are experienced in filler injections. I prefer to use a micro cannula to inject fillers to prevent bruising. Look for someone who is an expert in fillers to discuss your desired results and concerns. I hope this helps.
Hello and thank you for your question. Yes it is safe to have an RN, NP or Physician Assistant treat you as long as he/she has been trained properly and has sufficient experience. As with most professions, it is best to seek someone who specializes in their trade and is practicing it day in and day out. Best of luck!
I recommend seeing a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon for your lip injections. It will take 1-2 weeks for final results. Best, Dr. Emer
Depending on the state you are in Rn’s Can perform injections. If they are properly trained they can do a good job.
When you are deciding who to choose for any medically related procedure understand that it is easy when all is going well and experience might not be as vital as when things do not go as planned and there is a problem of something needs to be done that is out of ordinary. I can teach my kids how to do typical Botox injections but they can not figure out how or how much to inject for different variations in structure and musculature. Can't tailor it to patients specific needs without a deeper understanding of what is going on. Same is true with taking care of problems and side effects. An experienced physician is not excited when asked to FIX someone else's error or problem. When your face is being injected ,get the person with the most experience and knowledge of anatomy etc.
Yes it is safe to receive injections by RN, APRN, or Physicians Assistants if they have been properly trained. I recommend a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who knows the anatomy of the face very well. There are many injectors out there so just be sure to do your research about the one that you choice for your facial injections.
Hello there! I am an aesthetic RN, BSN who has injected full time for the past 4 years. I have had endless amounts of training in the products, technique, and facial anatomy. I have a very large patient following, and I love what I do. I would definitely recommend doing a significant amount of research before you decide on your injector. This a field where is experience is vital. I learn better ways to do things every single day. Injecting is an art, and you want to find an artist who fits you. Good luck! Sarah RN, BSN
Safety is determined by the injector's knowledge of anatomy and safe technique. They also should be skilled in recognizing and treating complications such as intravascular injections. Be sure to question your injector on their training regarding these issues.
Filler cannot be injected into the bone. And also not everywhere under the skin. However, fat grafting may be an option for you depending on what you want and your anatomy. A physical examination would be needed to make further comments.Hope this helps,Ali Rıza Öreroğlu, MD FEBOPRASEuropean an...

Hi, I have found that using radiofrequency generated heat is the best most natural and efficient way to dissolve filler. In fact, I don't even keep hyaluronidase in the office. The result is a very smooth and natural reduction in the filler and without the side effects of the hyaluronidase which...
