Most docs would advise to wait 2 weeks. My own feeling is that this is very conservative and if the wound closure is good and the ocular surface is healthy you should be able to wear lenses and makeup at 1 week. This is routine in my practice and patients have not had any problems. Best of luck.
Dear JenJames5,Thank you for your question about double eyelid surgery and lateral canthoplasty. You can start wearing make up and contacts as soon as the incisions have healed well enough that they are no longer forming scabs. Usually this is at the 1-2 week mark. To have a more definitive answer, I would recommend discussing this with you Surgeon. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns!Sincerely,Dr. P Daniel Ward
Patient are usually cleared to resume contact lenses and makeup usage about two weeks after surgery, but it is always best to check with your surgeon.
I usually have my patients wait at least 2 weeks, but this is a question you should ask of your surgeon. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. I typically tell my patients they can resume wearing contacts and eye make-up at their post op appointment which is 10-14 days after surgery. And that is when I remove the sutures. Best of luck, Dr. Heffernan
Thank you for your question.Every plastic surgery office has their own set of pre and post operative instructions that they recommend their patients follow. I encourage you to refer to these instructions. However, in our office we typically would like the patient to wait at least 2 weeks before wearing contacts, and makeup after sutures are out and skin edges are healed. Hope this is helpful.
In general, I allow my patients to wear contacts after about two weeks after surgery. You are best to ask your doc.
Ultimately, you need your personal doctor's answer. But I let my patients start using these after only one week. However, this depends on how well they are doing. If someone has dry eye problems or symptoms, it might be longer until this gets better.Do not pull down on the lower eyelid at all. This is because you had a canthoplasty as well. You don't want to injure this repair. And be gentle wiping off the makeup. These are recommendations that I give. Your doctor has the final say!Hope this helps.Dr Chris Saunders
When you can wear make-up after a blepharoplasty is generally allowed after 6-24 hours after all sutures have been removed. When you can wear contacts again is dependent on exactly what was done. Upper and lower blepharoplasty, especially with a canthoplasty, require you to not pull on the lids, such as inserting contacts, for some time until healing is adequate. Since this varies by the technique, you need to discuss this with your surgeon.

Thanks for your question. No, I think you will have an excellent result! It's very early to be evaluating any quality of the scars, and these incisions tend to fade dramatically by 6-12 weeks. Hang in there. Best wishes
The blepharoplasty incisions have been extended far too medially. Although I am sure that there must be a good reason for extending, this would represent an unorthodox approach. Unfortunately, Linear scars into the medial canthus often form webs. I have no doubt that this will get...
You have a herniating fat pad of your lower eyelid. This may have been caused by the Bell's palsy but it's something that happens with age as well...but most of the time it's the same on both sides. Since it's just the affected side, it's probably related to your Bell's palsy....
