My primary interest is in surgery of the face; including rhinoplasty, eyelid, face and necklift. I am also happy that some women find seeing a female plastic surgeon makes them more comfortable. Surgery on your breasts and body is daunting, and I hope I can make it that little bit easier for you.
Dr Sophie was amazing, I am so happy with how the surgeries went, I had a tummy tuck, breast reduction & an arm lift, the aftercare I received was 2nd to none, she & her staff were all wonderful to deal with, I honestly cannot put into words the respect & admiration I have for this surgeon. I highly recommend her.
I cannot recommend DR Sophie enough. I went to Sophie with a ruptured breast implant and feeling super unwell. From the minute I walked in Sophie was so warm and caring. Sophie did an amazing job at getting me in quickly, addressing all my concerns and giving me all the information I needed. If you are looking for breast explant and lift I couldn’t recommend enough. Thank you Sophie and for making me feel so comfortable and calm.
After reaching my mid-fifties, I decided to explore options for facial rejuvenation. I have a thin face and narrow jaw and was getting jowls with the associated droop of the lower face. Crepey skin also comes with the territory of my background. Dr. Ricketts came highly recommended on this site, with excellent reviews, competitive pricing, and the convenience of a one-night stay in the hospital. From the initial consultation to the post-operative care, Dr. Ricketts and her staff were incredibly attentive, intuitive, professional, and supportive. I opted for a lower facelift procedure, and I couldn't be happier with the results. My jowls are gone, the crepey skin on my neck and the vertical lines gone on my neck and face. Dr. Ricketts took the time to listen to my concerns and preferences, considering my personal aesthetics every step of the way. The surgery itself went smoothly, although I experienced some expected swelling and bruising, particularly in the neck area, which resolved within a few weeks. Sensory numbness was also present. I knew this would resolve and had no issues waiting for feeling to return. The procedure was performed in winter so I could wrap up a bit to hide the recovery issues. Prior to my decision to undergo surgery, I had tried non-surgical treatments elsewhere, which proved to be both expensive and disappointing. The temporary results of a thread lift and discomfort during the procedure left me considering a more permanent solution such as a mini facelift. Dr. Ricketts explained that while a mini facelift was an option, it would likely yield similar temporary results without addressing underlying structural concerns. Reflecting on my experience, I would encourage others in a similar position to carefully consider their options. While non-surgical procedures may offer convenience – the “lunchtime facelift”, they often come with a high price tag for the duration of results one gets. Instead, investing in a more comprehensive surgical procedure can provide long-lasting, transformative results. Dr. Ricketts and her team have helped me achieve exactly what I was looking for at a very reasonable cost. I am grateful for her expertise and support throughout the process.
Takes the time to thoroughly explain my procedures, nothing was too much trouble, very caring and made me relaxed and comfortable with what I was having done. Sophie’s assistants Michelle and Emma were also very obliging and helpful - overall a wonderful experience. (Re-do breast reduction, umbilical hernia repair, muscle separation repair & Abdominoplasty).
I came to Dr Sophie seeking a revision on a previous septorhinoplasty that caused my bridge to look too scooped and unnatural. I felt very bothered and self conscious of this feature of my face. Sophie added a small graft on the bridge, and my problem was fixed! It was an easy recovery and I'm very happy. Sophie is kind, caring and very very skilled. I've also had a really good experience with her team. Thank you all :)
My jaw is so short that my chin was barely protruding from my neck. I had the wrong implant done in 1995 in Europe and lived with it for 27 more years until I found Sophie. Other surgeons shied away from doing a "revision", afraid of what they'd find once they opened me up but Sophie... She had the right reviews and the right confidence, and it all turned out to be totally justified. She's an amazing person: caring and compassionate but also a peerless professional. Walked me through the process like it was nothing. And the end result is fantastic! I wish I'd found her sooner. A year after the surgery I couldn't be happier and the truth is, although she's put my photos up her website - those photos don't do justice to how bad it was before, and how good it became after. If you've been putting your procedure off, or if you're uncertain about who to choose, I can't recommend Sophie enough. Thank you for changing my life.
Sophie is very personable and has been attentive to my needs, concerns and goals from day 1 to now (3 months post op (chin implant)). I am thrilled with the results of the implant and had no complications. I was well-informed of the details and risks of the procedure and everything proceeded exactly to plan. I was very pleased to have her office nurse provide phone consultation in the week after the procedure to answer my questions the same day. I would highly recommend Sophie to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon.
Dr Sophie Ricketts is your surgeon to trust! My daughter and myself have both had rhinoplasty via Dr Ricketts and I have had breast implants and a lift with Dr Ricketts. FRACS was my first and foremost when sourcing a surgeon and Dr Sophie came recommended to me. Once I met her I knew we were in safe and capable care. The supporting team from admin to nurse Georgia and the wonderful anaesthetist will ensure your care is above and beyond. Truly fabulous.
I could not be happier with my experience with going through Dr Sophie Ricketts for my bi lateral breast augmentation. I only had it done yesterday but the whole process was as smooth as it could have been, Sophie and her team made me feel cared for and in amazing hands. I am so happy with the result already (although very swollen and high of course still) I could not fault one thing with my whole process from my consultation to my now recovery. Thank so much much Sophie and Hayley and the whole hospital team. You were all so amazing, can’t thank you enough xxx
Sophie was excellent in her job, she made me feel comfortable and answered questions. The procedure went on perfectly and result is awesome.it was absolutely worth it.I would recommend Dr Sophie Ricketts any day any time. Best hands
For sure, both skin and breast tissue can be removed in a revision surgery. If the nipple position is okay, then taking skin and breast as a wedge using the same vertical scar would be possible. It's likely that this would correct any lower pole heaviness and give a better shape.
A breast can be made as small as you want it to be. The main limitation however is the ability to safely keep the relocated nipple alive. In extreme cases it is possible to remove the nipple as a graft and the breast can be made any size and the nipple is sutured back on. This is generally reserved for very large droopy breast reductions however. The main drawback of this is that the nipple has no feeling and breast feeding is not possible. It is more common to reduce the breast to a size that alleviates your symptoms related to their heaviness, gives a nice proportional size and shape and is safe for nipple survival. It is likely that a reduction of around 450-500g per side for you may do this.
You are slim and your breasts are proportionally very large and sit very low on your chest. There may be an element of tuberous breast deformity as the fold under the breast looks quite high from your photos. You would do best from a reduction and reshaping with an anchor shaped scar to bring the nipple and breast up on the chest and reduce some of the weight. This would be a really positive change for you! There are rebates from Medicare or your health fund for this type of surgery.
This is a relatively common area where an extension of the breast tissue can exist. If it is mostly soft fatty breast tissue it will respond well to liposuction. If there is a firmer glandular component it would need to be 'excised' which would mean an access incision and scar. It looks like you have a scar in the armpit. Is this where the previous removal of tissue was via? If so it may be possible to use the same incisions. In severe case it is possible to make incision directly over the area and this would ultimately give best results because skin can also be removed. The trade-off of course though is the scar. This will fade and improve with time but you'd be best to chat about your options again with your surgeon.
The biggest risk in redo breast reduction is the blood supply to the nipple being compromised enough to kill it. It is thankfully a rare complication and if caution is taken during the surgery it will be avoided. If there is any doubt that this may be the case the nipple can be removed and replaced as a graft which increases its likelihood of survival. Unfortunately this would mean the nipple would lose its feeling/sensitivity. Redo surgery is done frequently and without complication. Although this risk would be slightly higher for you, it is still relatively unlikely, and most surgeons would warn you about it but the advantages of the surgery far outweigh this risk.
