Left eye was more bruised and swollen than Right. I love right eye outcome but incision on left eyelid seems a few milineters above crease and a bit too high at inner eye and creates a strange fold of skin over the Crease. Do I need a bit more skin removed? Could it be due to residual swelling? Will the incision drop into crease? I realize it's early in healing timeframe and have Follow up in a few weeks but would like professional opinions.
Answer: You are very early in your healing after blepharoplasty. I am not going to blow smoke in your direction. I think the surgery was mediocre. You may heal in a satisfactory fashion but I am concerned. The incision will not drop but will actually heal slightly higher than what you see now. It is likely that your surgeon is right handed because some surgeons have a little more difficulty in performing the eyelid surgery on the side opposite their dominant hand. On the left side, the crease appears higher than the right crease. Particularly medially, the incisions are a bit high and this contributes hollowness in the upper eyelids and this effect is especially noticeable on the left side. I am concerned that you will heal with upper eyelid ptosis. Already there is a compensatory left upper eyelid lift. The left upper eyelid has eyelash ptosis which is indicative of lack of attachment between the left upper eyelid levator tendon and the crease. This lack of support causes the lashes to sag. I strongly recommend letting the eyelids heal 4 to 6 months. These issues can be corrected with very precise revisional surgery but that is only done if necessary. Time will tell.

Answer: Early postop woes Hi There, It's too early to draw any conclusions. I would not want to disparage the surgery that you had at this early point. We all do things a little differently. Please give yourself a few months. My feeling is that you will quite likely end up happy with your outcome. Best, JDW

Answer: 10 days post surgery You are only 10 days post surgery, so give it more time. The full healing will take a few months and upper eyelid incisions tend to heal fantastic. Give it a few weeks and reevaluate at that time, there is still normal swelling that varies between the eyes at this stage.

Answer: Not great.... but don't lose heart... Your photos clearly show that the skin creases are asymmetric. This in turn gives rise to the asymmetry in the eyelid show when the eyes are open. The skin creases also are too high on both sides. With time, these scars will improve, and upper lid skin heals particularly well. However, the skin creases will not come down and the asymmetric eyelid show is unlikely to resolve. Hopefully the whole thing will improve to a degree that you are OK with it. If not, you may need a revision procedure.

Answer: Upper lid incision The crease is a little higher medially on the left, You also have some hollowing just above the little arch. This can occur when fat is taken from this area. That allows the crease to pull up. As you heal this may all be less noticeable. If you have some hollowing there, some HA filler can be used to help fill in the hollow. But wait 6 months before you do anything.
