I have keloid on my face due to an operation, and tiny keloid scars on my body. I have bulgy tip and wide nostrils.I want to get my nostrils smaller and don't want falling of the tip when i smile. I asked my doctor he offered open surgery for the tip but I am too afraid if i get huge keloids on my tip. Is it for sure to get keloid for me?

Answer: Keloid from rhinoplasty I'm not sure anyone has ever reported a keloid from rhinoplasty surgery. Also, I'm not sure the scar on your chin is actually a keloid. It looks more like a hypertrophic scar. Nevertheless, you may want to seek out as surgeon who performs closed rhinoplasty. This will avoid the possibility of a keloid altogether.

Answer: Rare keloids in nose + Close Rhinoplasty Dear Mrs,After looking at your pictures, I would like to address your question providing as much details as possible for you to make an informed decision on the nose surgery. In my opinion, it would be really rare to get keloids in the nose. Anyhow, if you are afraid of that, I would suggest doing a close rhinoplasty (as opposed to the open one suggested by the other surgeon). I encourage to ask further questions if the explanation above was not sufficient.Kind regards,Dr. Torres
