Answer: Rhinoplasty Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty device Piezo®: In traditional Rhinoplasty, surgical instruments known as rasps and osteotomies (hammer and chisel) are used to reshape the nasal bones by removing the hump and/or narrowing the nasal bone width. These tools are relatively imprecise and their use can lead to contour irregularities, etc. if not used in the proper manner. Recently, a technology that uses sound waves has been developed to contour nasal bones in a precise and far less traumatic way when compared to traditional techniques. Ultrasonic, or Piezo, Rhinoplasty is now the most advanced technology available for minimally traumatic nasal bone reshaping and hump removal during Rhinoplasty. There will be hardly any bruising and swelling which will make the recovery period a lot easier for the patient.

Answer: Why do you care? Preservation rhinoplasty is a newly rediscovered trend. It is helpful in some situations, indeed, but less so in others. Excellent results are available regardless of the technique. I do several different techniques depending upon the person and the goal, but would never want someone to request a specific approach. You should focus on the outcome and let a good surgeon do their work to get you there.

Answer: Preservation Rhinoplasty Dear tabithaA, thank you for your question. There are various techniques for performing a rhinoplasty and a preservation rhinoplasty is just another technique. This has been developed in the last 3-5 years and quite rightly is becoming more popular in Europe. However, it is more important that you decide what is it that you want the rhinoplasty to achieve. Preservation rhinoplasty cannot be applied in all types of nose surgery. It is best that you see a surgeon with experience in rhinoplasty who is able to produce the results that you seek.
