Had LA with neauvia organic yesterday ( 0.5 syringe).Lips were visibly plumper but looked fine. Came home, an hour later I saw two lumps and massaged the lips ( not very gently). They started to expand. Should I have the acid dissoled asap or hope lips will grow much smaller to the size after the procedure? It is Saturday, can I wait till Monday? Can I use ice to cool down? Help.
Answer: Swelling after lip injections Thank you for sharing your photo and your question. Swelling is very common after a lip injection and the swelling can start the day of the procedure and last for days. I advise patients to ice after the procedure and warn them that the next day is likely the day the lips swell the most. After that it gradually subsides with each passing day. I would not recommend dissolving the filler product at this point but to be patient and wait. If you are concerned, then I would revisit with your injector who may have other post-procedure protocols that can help with swelling.

Answer: Lips grew 3 times bigger 2-3 hours after the procedure. Should I have the acid dissolved asap, or will swelling vanish? Thank you for your question and photograph. Due to the lips very thin skin, it is common to have swelling after placement of fillers, especially with the need for additional massaging to try and correct the lumps that you discovered. This can be treated with some cool compresses, and sleeping on a few extra pillows. Should your lips, or tongue, continue to swell, or if you have difficulty breathing, call your surgeon immediately as this may be an allergic reaction to a product in the filler. When the swelling resolves, if your lips remain too large, there is another medicine, hyaluronidase, that can be injected to dissolve your filler and return your lips to the size before your injections. Hope this helps.

Answer: Lips too big? I appreciate your angst, but it is too early to do anything. Allow swelling to dissipate over next 2 weeks, then go back to your doctor if you are still not happy, treatment can still be done at that time. Good Luck!

Answer: Immediate swelling after lip filler injection... What to do? Thanks for sharing your question and photos. I am sorry that you are having concerns about your procedure. Swelling and bruising are most of the times expected issues after filler injections. Head elevation, and cold compresses should help to prevent and stop the process. If you feel redness, itchiness or significant throbbing, you may consider calling your doctor for advice. You must wait 2 weeks before considering doing any adjustments to the current outcome. Hopefully your swelling will go down, and your results will be similar to what you observed immediately after the injection. Best wishes.
