Thank you for your excellent question.  Because fillers come prepackaged, patients do need to purchase the entire syringe despite the actual amount that is needed, or used.  That said, filler companies often have a larger and smaller sized syringe that can be ordered for patients.  See a board certified plastic surgeon for an in-person assessment. They can then tell you the amount that they would anticipate an upper lip injection may require and can give you a price on the filler at that time.  Hope this helps. 

LisaEach city varies regarding price. Usually pricing goes by the amount of filler used, if you just need one lip done, then you can get away with less, but you will probably need one syringe. Another option is fat transfer, because it lasts longer, and studies show that at least 1/3 of fat transferred lasts long term. It may be more expensive initially, but cheaper in the long term. seek out a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. Good Luck!

Pricing can seem pretty mysterious, especially with some of
the specials you see on the super-duper discounter sites. With lip fillers, as
with most fillers, physicians purchase the product by the syringe. Most
physicians buy full or 1cc syringes because that is the size most patient’s
need. However, some fillers come in smaller syringes as well. Your physician
should be able to advise how much will be needed for both lips and you will
likely be charged by the number of syringes needed rather than by the areas
being injected.



Different filler products have different prices depending on
how long the product is expected to last, how new it is on the market and how
popular it may be. Additionally, doctors pay different prices based on their
purchase volumes with the manufacturer. Lastly, the “professional component”
added to the product cost varies significantly from practice to practice. Good
