The lines around the corners of the eyes, also known as Crow's feet are formed by repetitive motions such as smiling and forced eyelid closure. Such dynamic lines respond best to a toxin such as Botox which helps dampen muscle activity in the region. Deeper lines are best addressed with a combination of Botox and laser resurfacing. In my opinion, filling such lines is not considered a "go to" procedure because of the dynamic nature of crow's feet and the very thin skin around the eyes. However, if I was to use a filler in this area, Bellafill would probably be my last choice. Although the concept of permanence in a filler is appealing, the way your face looks over time is ever changing. Because of this fact, use of PMMA (ploymethylmethacrylate: also found in adhesives like super glue) to address dynamic changes around the eyes is conceptually flawed.
In FULL agreement with Dr Prendiville in the use of BoTOX for crows feet..............................
