Which should I get: Mini tummy tuck or umbilicoplasty repair hernia and non-surgical skin tightening? (photos)

If you are only concerned with the area below your belly button, a mini tummy tuck may be suitable for you. Nonsurgical skin tightening tends to achieve unpredictable results that may take some time to appear, so it would be up to you to determine whether you’d like to invest the time and money.

I think you could get a mini tummy tuck and the umbilical hernia repaired at the same time. I don't usually recommend mini tucks but I think it would work well for you

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Nothing replaces an in-person examination of your tissues and a thorough discussion of your goals, but I think the scarring of any procedure, short of a laparoscopic umbo hernia repair would be objectionable for the level of improvement.

The umbilical hernia repair can be corrected, but it does not appear you need a tummy tuck. An in person exam is needed to know for sure but you may be a candidate for skin tightening, though you may not need it. As an in person exam is always best, I recommend visiting with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation.

You did not show your whole abdomen, but the hernia repair with the minimally invasive skin tightening should do well for you. If you plan more children, wait on a surgical tuck.

There really is no nonsurgical skin tightening option that actually works.

for the most part any attempt at tightening skin without directly exercising skin laxity will lead to fairly significant disappointment and be seen as a waste money.
most plastic surgeons are comfortable doing umbilical hernia repairs but this will vary from individual to individual. If you’re going to have two surgical procedures and it makes more sense to do them as a combined procedure.

A mini tummy tuck may be a good option for you. It will only address skin laxity below your belly button.

Based on your pictures your abdomen looks spectacular and despite having mild skin laxity you have minimal signs of visible pregnancy related changes.

whether any form of tummy tuck is appropriate in patients like yourself will vary substantially among providers as well as patients themselves. Liposuction could be an option though it is not a skin procedure.

I suggest scheduling a few in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons to get a more accurate assessment and better understanding of treatment options. At that time you can ask each provider how they feel about doing your umbilical hernia repair as a possible combined procedure.

You can get the hernia repaired but absloutely do not listen to anybody who trys to get you to do any form of tummy tuck or mini. Skin tightening machines are generally disappointing.
