I had breast agumention in march 2024..3. I’ve had no problem at all Post op and recovery was great. I went to Istanbul for my private surgery, and the care i received was second to none and would go back to my surgeon in a heartbeat he was great. ( did my resource on him for well over a year) this was not a quick think about it do it.. was full on well thought. So please no judgement, I’m not here for that. So I very physical actuve person and never had an issue with my implants. Ii recently started a rapid weight Loss diet, to help with the way I look for a wedding coming up, been on the diet for 12 days, and have lost 2kg.. currently weight 63kg and am 5ft3, 38 year old. my implant are 350cc round mentor HP above muscle. 2 nights ago i noticed my breast looking a little saggier than notmal, thought nothing of it. But then last night while in the shower my left boob looked totally distorted and poking out as though my implant was sideways sticking out, I panicked and gently massaged it and it went back fown, however I believe it to have flipped fully but the wrong way, so what should be the front round is now the back glat, and that left boob looks out of shape. It doesn’t feel broken or ruptured, but defiantly not right. Is it possible for them to flip completely over, if so can it be flipped back without surgery. And could this have happened due to the rapid weight loss? Any help appreciated.. Im panicking

Thank you very much for all of the information that you provided. It is certainly possible for the implant in position. The easiest way to determine if that has happened if by physical examination by a plastic surgeon and/or evaluation with imaging. Depending on how much native breast tissue you have, a surgeon may be able to palpate for the round disc that is designed to the be on the backside of the implant. If you or your surgeon is able to feel that, that is an indicator that the implant has flipped.
If you are able to find a surgeon who has access to an ultrasound machine, that would probably be the quickest and easiest way to assess for the position of the disc if he/she is not able to palpate it.
In terms of ways to address it, sometimes the implant can be flipped back into position in the office. This may be more tolerable in your case, since the implant was placed on top of the muscle. When the implant is under the muscle, patients usually say that trying to flip the implant is more uncomfortable. If the implant is not able to flipped by manual manipulation, the next best option would be to do it in the operating room. That way, it could be removed and replaced in a sterile environment. In terms of recovery from that type of surgery - it is much easier than the initial augmentation.
The Motiva implants are great for minimizing the amount of a capsule that forms around the implant. Some surgeons argue that, with a thinner capsule, patients may be at a higher risk of implants bottoming out or flipping.

Based on your photograph, the implant may have flipped. If you went from a round or upper pole to a flatter upper pole, then that would be more supportive of that concern. The implant can be manipulated back into its proper orientation just like turning a breach baby back to head down. Sometimes it can’t be done, but most of the time it can in the office.
