I'm getting my surgery in 5 days. Can I drink this weekend?

Thank you for sharing your question.  Most likely a single drink of either wine or energy will have no impact on your surgery but best to follow your surgeon's instructions.  Best wishes on your upcoming augmentation.

One or two drinks five days before surgery are unlikely to have any effect on anything.  However, it is more appropriate that your surgeon be the one authorizing or prohibiting anything prior to his or her planned procedure. Best of luck!

If your surgery is scheduled for Thursday and you want to have a few dinks Saturday and Sunday, I don't see any problem with that.  All the alcohol will be long gone out of your system by Thursday morning.  Go have a great weekend!G. Robert Meger MD

I would avoid drinking alcohol this weekend before your breast augmentation. This could make you dehydrated and might increase the risks of bleeding with the operation. There will be plenty of time for drinking once you're healed and after your breast implants you will be invited to a lot more parties :-).Best wishes on your upcoming surgery, Dr. Aldo

You are probably best to avoid alcohol a week before surgery.  As for energy drinks they often have stimulants. It is probably not a great thing to use, period.

With your surgery on Thursday I donot think there is any problem drinking an energy drink . Coffee and tea is not s problem as well . It is  advisable not to take any NSAIDS ( Motrin, Advil  etc)or aspiran this close to surgery. 

Having a drink or two five days prior to your procedure should not be an issue.  Contact your surgeon if you're uncomfortable about it.  Good luck with your upcoming procedure!

Hi and thank you for your question.  The short answer is no, you should not be consuming alcohol at this point prior to your surgery as it can increase your risk of bleeding and bruising during and after the procedure.  Safety first!

Yes, you can do both of those things. However, as not all energy drinks are alike, I would make certain there are no herbal ingredients that might affect your blood clotting.
