I'm getting my surgery in 5 days. Can I drink this weekend?

Hi. I have my BA in 5 days, Thursday (March 16) and wondering if I can drink a little wine. Also, wondering as well if I can drink an energy drink. Thank you!

Hello,Thank you for your question. Likely, a small amount of alcohol  5 days before surgery won't be a concern but it is best that you clear this and other supplements/energy drinks with your Plastic Surgeon. They may have specific preferences and restrictions.All the best

One or two drinks five days before surgery are unlikely to have any effect on anything.  However, it is more appropriate that your surgeon be the one authorizing or prohibiting anything prior to his or her planned procedure. Best of luck!

Having a drink or two five days prior to your procedure should not be an issue.  Contact your surgeon if you're uncomfortable about it.  Good luck with your upcoming procedure!

If your surgery is scheduled for Thursday and you want to have a few dinks Saturday and Sunday, I don't see any problem with that.  All the alcohol will be long gone out of your system by Thursday morning.  Go have a great weekend!G. Robert Meger MD
