Shortness of breath 3 days post op breast augmentation. Is this normal?

Hello and thank you for your question!Getting winded and being short of breath from small activities is not normal.  I urge you to consult with your surgeon immediately and perhaps a visit to the ER to rule out any pulmonary embolism issues.  Best of luck to you!

hello!  The symptom that you are describing of shortness of breath is not normal. It is a very concerning symptom following any surgical procedure and warrants immediate medical attention. I would recommend calling your surgeon and/or going to the ER for evaluation. Best wishes!

Pain after a breast augmentation and to some extent SLIGHTLY more shortness of breath is normal due to the fact that you don't take as deep of breaths as normal while your body is getting used to the implants but the significant shortness of breath you describe is not normal.  It could be a sign of a collapsed lung or a blood clot in your lung.  I recommend you call your surgeon asap (right now) and get evaluated for these possibilities.

Thank you for your question. It is not normal after breast aug. It is common to have pain. I recommend you to see your PS as soon as possible.

I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms. No, what you are describing does not seem normal. Certainly breast augmentation patients will experience some pain (especially muscular pain) in the chest area, but not shortness of breath. You should let your surgeon know ASAP. Best wishes.

Shortness of breath like your describing needs immediate attention. Call your doctor or go to an Emergency Room for immediate evaluation to rule out pulmonary embolism, blood clot to the lungs.
