Small Hematoma after breast augmentation? Will it clear up on its own? (photos)

The fact that left breast size has gotten smaller is an indication that your bleeding ceased and size of it may be decreasing. Small hematomas get re-absorbed without leaving any overt signs. Yes, capsular contracture may be a long-term sequela but local message, use of selective medications may help reduce the risks. As suggested, stay in close follow ups with your Plastic Surgeon, he/ she can steer you in the right direction. Best.

Sounds like the bleeding stopped, therefore my advice would be to allow your body the time to reabsorb the blood. Yes, the risk of capsula contracture is higher in the future, but this doesn't mean you will get it. Intervening at this stage (via surgery, or aspiration) carries additional risks which outweighs the benefit. Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

I can see in the pictures an small ecchymosis area (more than hematoma), which should resolve itself in a few weeks.I recommend avoiding sun exposure to prevent permanent stains.

This happens not that infrequently, where one side has an ooze of blood in the post op period. Often times while the surgeon is operating, blood vessels are in spasm and they open up later once the body is awake and relaxed. The trouble with minor post op bleeding like yours is that there is a higher risk for a capsular contracture. You should speak to your surgeon about taking medications to try to prevent the capsular contracture and/or an early massage program. 

Your hematoma looks really small and it will likely resolve on its own.  If you were my patient, I would give you the same advice your surgeon gave you.  Make sure you follow up closely with your surgeon.  If the bruising became worse or your left breast starts enlarging, surgery to remove the hematoma may be indicated.  You may be at increased risk for capsular contracture.  Another reason to stay in close touch your surgeon.  Sometimes an asthma medication can help with an early capsular contracture.  I wish you a smooth recovery!

If the breast is not continuing to increase in size with time then it should absorb with time. It is definitely something you should keep an eye on, and if the swelling does start to increase then I recommend contacting your PS office. The blood can absorb, but there is a chance that a complication can occur later on down the line, such as a capsular contracture. Studies have shown there is a increased risk for capsular contracture in patients who have post op bleeding.
