Answer: Allergic reaction possible Dear Janet. Itis a good idea to see your surgeon as planned to make sure nothing too serious is going on such as an infection. The itchiness and patchy redness in my experinxe indicate a possible allergic reaction - most commonly to a surgical dressing - did you have any tape or dreasings on the wound? If so, it should settle in time and will not affect your outcome. Good luck!

Answer: Why is my incision bumpy and itchy? Its difficult to assess without a formal consultation. If you are using micropore tape then its possible you are having an allergic reaction. Its likely to be a minor skin irritation as it affects both breasts rather than anything serious. Discuss with your plastic surgeon.

Answer: Bumpy and itchy incision 2 weeks post BAM- Why? Hi Janet.First please stop using steroid cream, and let your doctor know what you are doing/what is going on with you.In looking at your pics as a sole source of information, it looks like your wounds are coming along fine. I think that the bumps are due to skin glue that was used to supplement the sutures. Looking at the pics, you will see the blue coloration- this is the glue.Itching may be due to a rash, but I can't say that you have one based on the pics alone. It is likely that the itching may be due to nerve regeneration, or "re-awakening".Steroids may be appropriate in some cases, however indiscriminate use, especially over a fresh surgical wound can have negative consequences.sek

Answer: Itchy bumpy incisions From your photo, your incisions see to be healing well. Healing incisions normally itch for several weeks post-op. I recommend Benadryl cream or 1% Hydrocortisone. Itching can also be caused by allergy to any ointments you may be applying, especially triple antibiotic ointments or cream such as Neosporin. The bumps are most likey buried sutures which will probably dissolve in several more weeks. Check this out with your doctor to find out how he closed the incisions. You look great, relax, and let Mother Nature do her healing thing
