I am interested in having this procedure but worried about having it in a doctors office. This seems strange to me but maybe this is normal. Where are most facelifts performed now days?
Answer: In-office Facelift All Board Certified Plastic Surgeons in the United States, if they are members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, have to operate in a state accredited operating facility to optimize your safety and well-being. Make sure you ask the right questions specifically about Board Certification and if they have an accredited operating room facility.

Answer: Facelifts can be performed in the office but most surgeons prefer a licensed operating room. I have my own surgery center so that's where my patients are done. I also keep them overnight. There is nothing wrong with surgery in the office if all the necessary services are there.Make sure your surgeon has privileges to do facelifts in a hospital.

Answer: Facelift surgery at the 'office' Facelift surgery at the 'office' where 'office' is an accredited out patient surgical facility is normal. Make sure your surgeon is a board certified plastic surgeon and that his/her facility is an approved outpatient surgical facility. You can ask what accreditation/approval the office has to conduct surgical procedures.

Answer: In office facelifting absolutely!I am fairly unique in the UK in that I perform facelifts in the 'office' not a hospital setting. I am of the opinion in fact that a facelift performed in an accredited facility that ISN'T a hospital is infact better for the patient in that it is a less stressful procedure, less impersonal and often the equipment and instruments are newer and state of the art. As long as the medical care is first class and attentive and the facility conforms to regulatory standards, I think it is it is far preferable for the patient and surgeon.

Answer: Facelift In The Office Is Standard While I understand your concerns, these cases have moved out of the Hospital over the years. I do my facelifts in my own OR and I think it is actually safer here. I am approved by the Joint Commission - the same body that certifies my hospital OR. They have very stringent rules and regulations that we have to live by.If you go to the hospital, you may not be getting a board certified anesthesiologist, but in my office I won't work with anyone else. No residents, no CRNA's. I have no hesitation at all - and when my mother wanted a facelift...it was done in an office OR.Good Luck - whatever you decide.
