Is it safe to have sex 2 weeks after Rhinoplasty?

For 3-4 weeks after rhinoplasty, it's suggested that patients avoid heavy exercise or other activities that would cause the heart to race, as this could cause an elevation in blood pressure, which may lead to bleeding and prolonged swelling of the nose. Another concern during the initial 3-4 weeks is nasal trauma, which could alter the results of the rhinoplasty. Since I did not perform your surgery and don't know the extent of the correction, it would be best to ask your plastic surgeon for his or her protocol regarding how long to wait before having sex after rhinoplasty.

I usually tell my patients to wait at least 2 weeks after rhinoplasty to have sex. The most frustrating thing for both patient and surgeon is nasal tip swelling. Increasing heart rate leads to increase nasal tip swelling in the early postoperative period. Ask your surgeon, as he or she likely has specific instructions for you. Thank you for the question! Like most surgeons, I would advise you to wait about 3 weeks before engaging in strenuous physical activities after rhinoplasty. Even if sexual activity poses no risk of nasal trauma, it might elevate your blood pressure and increase your heartbeat. This might exacerbate your swelling and even increase a chance of bleeding.
