Thanks for your question.Managing the Rosacea is your first step . Get it under control and then consider laser resurfacing of the skin. Revision  Rhinoplasty is not helpful and will potentially make the skin worse.

Thank you for the question. Management of thick skin is among the hardest parts of rhinoplasty. In your case, if you have early rhinophyma or sebaceous hypertrophy, certain topical medications can be helpful. In cases of true rhinophyma, surgical excision or ablative laser therapy can be useful. A revision rhinoplasty just to thin the skin is unwise, as this will create new scar tissue.

This will likely improve the appearance of your nasal skin.  Short of tangential planing for rhinophyma, it can be risky undergoing nose surgery for the specific purpose of thinning the nasal skin.To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have these treatments.I hope this helps.

There are several methods for reducing the thickness of the nasal skin. Laser resurfacing is probably the most common treatment today. However, dermabrasion of derma planing can be used, but can have some bleeding associated with the procedure.There are no medications or steroids that can predictably treat thickened nasal skin for an improved contour.
