I am scheduled to have my first consult this week for a MM. My main concern is correcting my protruding belly and skin over hang. My question is- would it be possible for the PS to extend the incision longer on the sides to take care of the cellulite dimpling on my upper outer thighs? Would this still be considered an extended tummy tuck or be a lower body lift? The length of the scar is not a concern if it kills two birds with one stone. Thank you for your time....

An extended tummy tuck is most often used to address upper-body concerns such as excess skin and fat around the flanks and lower back, rather than lower-body concerns of the thighs and buttocks. Based on your photo, it seems as though liposuction (which is commonly included in a tummy tuck and mommy makeover) may be enough to address your concerns, but without an in-person evaluation it is difficult to tell for certain. During your consultation, be sure to discuss your thigh area as well as your abdomen with your surgeon. They can recommend the best course of action and determine how to include it in your surgical plan. Best of luck!

Answer: Tummy tuck A tummy tuck will not address the outer thigh area. A lower body lift/circumferential tummy tuck can help with that, but obviously is a more involved procedure. For cellulite you can consider Aveli which is a one time treatment that addresses the underlying cause of the dimpled appearance. See my website or a provider near you to learn more.

Answer: Extended Tummy Tuck with Thigh Lift, Lower Body Lift Thank you for your question & photos! My standard tummy tuck includes liposuction of the waist and a pubic lift. The incision is very low so you can hide it under underwear or a bathing suit. An extended tummy tuck incision will extend to the back, which can help to rid of extra skin and fat on the sides. If desired, I can also do a front and outer thigh lift with an extended tummy tuck. This includes deep sutures that help to lift the front and outer thigh. If you have skin laxity to your back you may also be a lower body lift candidate which would include a buttock lift.
