A mini face lift has left me with scarring. Flat, white and wide in my hair line,jn front of and behind do my eats. I cannot wear my hair up or put my hair behind my ears ad they are very visable. Why has this happened?
Answer: Scars following surgery Thank you for your question!Unfortunately, I cannot see from the above your scars a the picture quality isn't great. However, scars worsen when too much tension is put on the skin which causes the scars to stretch and drop mainly due to unacceptable technique in position the scars correctly. If your scars have matured, be sure to refer back to your surgeon/certified board of plastic surgeons to revise and neaten them round the area. Referring back to your surgeon, revision surgery shouldn't cost anything in addition as it seems the first surgery didn't go to plan with the technique used. Revision facelifts require specialist skills to achieve a harmonious, attractive and natural-looking result.Good luck!

Answer: Plasma pixilation can help bring color back into the white scars Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Scars after facelift Your scars likely resulted from too much tension on the skin. If the scar is mature, it can be revised. All the best!

Answer: I have wide white scars under my ears and into my hairline after a face lift in July 2017. Why has this happened? Hello Elluss11,Sorry to hear about your scarring issues. I am not sure if you meant to write 2016 instead of 2017 for the facelift. If you just had your facelift it is important to give things time to heal. If you already have wide scars at three weeks they would likely continue to worsen as the healing continues. The reason you see wide scars is from excess tension. This is more common with skin only lifts as opposed to ones that address the deeper tissue. Whether your "mini lift" involved just the skin or did tighten the deeper tissue may have been a predisposing factor for this. The fact that you have wide scars essentially everywhere would either be from a technical aspect of the surgery or inherent to how you heal. The way to distinguish the two is if you have poor scars elsewhere or only in the areas where this surgery was performed.I'd recommend you follow up with your surgeon to express your concern and possibly get a second opinion from a facial plastic surgeon about what can be done to improve your scars.
