I'm 10 months post Facelift and necklift. The scars have healed perfectly and everything looks fantastic, but when I tried to put back my tiny pierced earrings (they are small studs, hypoallergenic and I wore them for years) the back of my earlobes get irritated where the ear meets the head and I start swelling (just a little) in that area. Is it normal and should I just wait a few months before putting back my earrings?

Answer: Earrings after Facelift Thank you for your question, we allow our patients to start wearing earrings within 2 weeks after facelift surgery. The incisions should be healed for you at 10 months post op and earrings should not be an issue. The back of the earrings may be too long or the ear piercing itself may have to be adjusted. I would bring your concerns to your operating physician and have them evaluate. Hope this helps.

Answer: When Can I Wear Earrings After a Facelift? Thank you for your question. You should be perfectly fine to wear earrings, at this stage after surgery. If you are having irritation, though, when you put the earrings in, I would discuss this with your surgeon, you may need an adjustment to the earlobes or the piercings themselves. I hope that this helps!-David Gilpin
