I am a 54 year old female. I wear both top and bottom dentures. I also have bone loss in bottom. Are Facelifts an option for me. Thank you in advance. Ready to get something done.
Answer: Dentures and facelifts Great question. Dentures do not affect the outcomes of a facelift as the skin from the jowls and neck are primarily improved and dentures have no effect on those areas. As long as you have excess skin and laxity in the neck, you should benefit well from a facelift.

Answer: Face-lift in patients with dentures In patients with dentures, a significant bone loss can be expected which contributes to aging changes of the face. An accurate assessment of facial aging will dictate the specific surgical maneuvers needed to create a youthful and yet natural look. In addition to correcting deep tissues and skin excess, the bone loss component is addressed with Structural Fat Graft and/or facial implants. Seek out an experienced and skilled facelift expert for an in person evaluation.

Answer: Facelift and dentures I typically recommend leaving your dentures in during a facelift procedure. This provides support to your lower face and creates a more natural position when lifting the soft tissues around your mouth area. Removing the dentures could result in an unnatural pull or look to your facelift. Plus, I suspect you wear your dentures most of the time and you want the lift to be in balance with your mouth area. Good luck with your procedure.

Answer: Patients Who Wear Dentures Can Be Good Candidates For Facelift Surgery If you wear dentures, your dentures should definitely be replaced in the operating room after a general endotracheal intubation, and prior to commencement of your facelift. It is very common for patients to lose height and thickness in the bones of their maxilla and mandible as they age, and replacement of your dentures will give your surgeon a better understanding of the three dimensional spatial relationships of your facial skeleton at the time of your surgery.
