How long for biodegradable packing to dissolve following rhinoplasty?

I've had my rhinoplasty done 4 days ago, however my nose is still completely blocked. Was wondering how long it takes for the biodegradable packing to dissolve and for me to breathe through my nose again?

Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with only four days after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

The obstruction can be a combination of swelling, packing, and clot.  If your surgeon has given you permission, I encourage nasal saline spray to help with dissolving the packing.  At your 1 week follow-up, the surgeon will likely suction your nose and you will notice some immediate relief.All the best!
