Lip filler not lasting over a month help? Had 5ml in total. (photos)

Question

Since June 16 I've 5ml in my lips but nothing seems to last over a month. Had 1ml teoysal kiss in June, didn't last so lady put another ml in July, again lasted about a month but didn't bother going back, went to someone else Xmas time & put 2ml of juvaderm ultra in, again didn't last over a month. Went back beginning of march but had been bk for consultation in Jan, he used juva volbela & nw 3w later not much difference. However all has been with dental blocks - does this affect the results?

Dental blocks do not have anything to do with the product longevity. You may want to consider something more permanent like fat grafting to help increase the size of your lips if the fillers are not lasting.

Dental blocks have nothing to do with your results. I would say that hyaluronic acid fillers are not for you! This is a rare occurrence and the only alternative is to have fat grafting into your lips which will last a lot longer. There is no need to keep trying with hyaluronic acid fillers, it will be a waste of time and money.

Thank you for your question. Dental block do not have to do with the longevity of your fillers. If hyaluronic acid fillers are not lasting, you may want to consider a permanent option such as fat grating to help increase the size of your lips. It sounds as if you are one of those rare patients whose body metabolizes the HA fillers too quickly. I would not advise you to try another one as it will simply be a waste of money. Personally, I would recommend fat grafting as the results should be more permanent. Best of luck.

It appears that you are metabolizing the hyaluronic acid fillers very rapidly. Since you live in UK you have few more options with fillers that last, in general, much longer. For example, you can try Teosyal Ultimate that will definitely last longer than Teosyal Kiss. Another filler known for its longevity is Stylage XXL; it is a hyaluronic acid filler mixed with mannitol. One additional filler that is definitely worth considering is Ellanse series. These are non-hyaluronic acid fillers and biostimulants that have the longest duration due to their composition. Ellanse L may last up to 3 years and Ellanse E up to 4 years. 
Perhaps, in your particular case, Ellanse could be the best choice before you consider more permanent solutions.

Hi There Thank you for your question and photographs.This is a common issue, not so much in the lips though it has to be said.There are some ladies over the years i have treated who have been heavy smokers - incidentally they've been the ones with the presentation you describe.If you do not smoke it may well be that you are one of those that burns filler - this is difficult as there is no other good option apart from HA fillers.See an expert once things have settled and consider a thicker filler but it needs to be injected very carefully.Kind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini Zenith Cosmetic Clinics

let me tell you that you have very nice lips. If you seem to feel that your filler goes away after about a month, it is possible that your body simply breaks down hyaluronic acid very quickly. Unfortunately there's not much else you can do except perhaps consider a permanent filler like silicone oil that is medical-grade. It has to be administered by someone who is extremely experienced it in such treatments.
