I have a mole on my foot, should I be concerned? (photos)

Hi! I've had a mole on the sole of my foot since birth, recently I noticed it's became paler and when I squeeze the area around it, it turns purple/red.. do I have anything to be concerned about? It probably looks more like a blister when pressure is applied around it. I will be seeing a doctor asap but that probably won't be until next week since it's new year this weekend! Thank you.

Moles on the feet are of concern if they are changing or suspicious in character. I would suggest a biopsy to help clear the worry.

Since there have been some changes, I recommend getting a formal consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Moles can be removed with lasers, radiowave or shave. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Many thanks for your question. Moles on the feet especially the sole are difficult to monitor and it is often unclear if there have been any changes and how long for. What you have described in itself doesn't sound too concerning however I would advise seeing a skin specialist i.e. a plastic surgeon or dermatologist experienced in treating skin lesions for a full skin check and assessment of this lesion. A dermatoscope is used to look at the lesion in closer detail as part of this assessment. All the very best with things! Jonathan Adamthwaite

If you are concerned enough to write your letter, then the answer is to see a real live physician to check the mole.  It's very hard to give you an opinion from your photograph.
