I have always had fat under my chin and around my jowls even when i lose weight. The left side is substantially larger than the right. I saw a board certified doctor 2 years ago who said that lipo wouldn't give me the results I wanted (??) and should try coolsculpting. I have tried 2 CoolMini sessions-made no difference.Picture 3 shows me pulling back the fat (how i want it to look). I am not interested in chin augmentation. Can Kybella be injected directly into jaw line? Other options? ThankyouUpdated with new photos.
Answer: CoolMini did not work. What about Kybella? Kybella Is Terrific for Smaller Areas While you do have some submental fat, it is subtle and perhaps the CoolMini applicator could not work with your contours. Both Kybella and CoolSculpting usually need at least two to three sessions before your optimal results are visible. Kybella can treat smaller areas than CoolSculpting, so you may respond better. If you are looking to tighten your skin as well, you might want to consider adding in Ultherapy or Thermi. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist who has experience removing volume and tightening skin under the chin will give you a better sense of what will work best for you.

Answer: CoolSculpting and Kybella injections both reduce fat in the neck If liposuction is not expected to give a result one wishes in a better neck, then neither coolsculpting nor kybella is expected to provide improvement. Kybella is not injected along the jaw line to avoid nerve damage, despite it being temporary. The information provided in Dr. Shelton's answer is for educational purposes only and is not intended to constitute medical advice. Answer: Kybella for excess fat under the chin From your photos, it seems that Kybella would be a good option for you. Kybella works well for excess fatty tissue under the chin (and to some extent along the jawline - except you have to avoid injuring the marginal mandibular nerve). In young, thinner, patients, the excess fatty tissue is usually genetic in nature. Remember, however, that it is not possible to do a perfect evaluation using just these photos. If the issue is from the position of your mandible, rather than just fat, Kybella and/or liposuction may not be the right answer. You will need to see an expert in Kybella and liposuction to make this determination. Kybella is most often done as a series of treatments. The procedure itself is easy to undergo, and you can drive yourself to and from the office. There is usually mild to moderate burning after the injections from the inflammatory response that Kybella produces. You will then have between 3 to 14 or so days of swelling and tenderness. I generally do follow-up injections at 6 weeks after the initial treatment.

Answer: Options for fat and skin under chin It is possible that there was too little fat before your Coolmini treatment, and that skin laxity may be a part of the problem. Kybella will reduce any fat but cannot be injected safely along the jawline, and although it can produce some tightening it isn't always predictable for that. Consider Ultherapy after either lipo or Kybella.

Answer: Chin fat treatment Based on your photos you are a very good candidate for Kybella since you are young, have good skin tone, and have minimal fat/fullness under your chin. You would likely get a very nice result and have a much more defined jawline as well. Most likely you would need 2-3 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart. A more aggressive option would be liposuction. This is a one time treatment which would remove the fat and induce skin tightening. Liposuction is more invasive and you would have more downtime. Please consult a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon experienced in these procedures. Best wishes.
