1 week post-op, will I now always have one boob bigger than the other? (photos)

Question

Nurse says I'm fully healed & all swelling has gone. Went bra shopping & found left boob is noticeably bigger than right in bra's. Left had 25cc more even though he said had same amount of breast tissue, due to muscle in right being bigger, making right appear bigger. I couldnt see it but now I can but it's other way around! Does it look as though there is more 'D&Fing' for right to do or is this always the size now? My vest top strap falls off right side due to not being as tight that side!

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photos.  During the post-operative period the breast are swollen, and the breast implants appear in a much higher position.  Over time they descend and fills out the lower half of the breast. In addition, it is not uncommon for one breast to be more swollen than the other and may even out with time (unless they were asymmetric in size to begin with).  It may take several months for this to happen and can be encouraged with breast massage and compression.  It may appear that the breast enlarges as the lower aspect of the breast fills out (at the expense of the upper portion of the breast).

At only one week following your breast augmentation, it’s
way too early to be worried about asymmetry, and it’s also too early to buy new
bras. Both breasts are still swollen from surgery, and you’re not looking at
your final implant placement either. It takes time for the muscles and tissue
surrounding your implants to relax and allow the implants to settle, and this
nearly always happens faster in one side compared to the other. Asymmetry is
very normal at this stage of recovery. Give it a few more months and see what
happens.

At 1 week, it's still too early to make a final assessment of you breasts.  I would wait about 6-8 weeks and then take a look.

Thanks for your question!  At one week post-op, it is too early to tell what your final result will be.  Each breast is a different surgical pocket with a different healing pace.  My advice is to be patient and trust your PS.  Good luck!

It's much too early to make a pronouncement about the final size of your breasts. Modest differences in volume in the short-term are common after breast augmentation.

For most patients it takes 3 to 6 months before you can evaluate a result.
The majority of small differences usual resolve over this time period as the
implant takes its ultimate position. I would make an appointment to see your
plastic surgeon and I am sure they can answer your questions and address your
concerns.

Thanks for your question. At 1 week post op, you are not "fully healed". It takes several weeks for the implants to settle in the pocket and all swelling to subside. I would advise you to discuss these concerns with your PS, I'm sure he/she will advise a little patience. Good luck
