Is it normal to have one boob bigger than the other? (photos)

Question

I am 2 weeks and 4 days post op, but I got 2 surgeries on my left boob because I had a hematoma. I had my first surgery on a Thursday and had to wait until Monday (4 days later) to get my second surgery to remove the hematoma. My left boob is currently bigger than my right one. I just want to know if this is normal because of the two surgeries and time difference and if they will end up looking even?

Thank you for the picture. It is quite normal have some uneven swelling especially if he had multiple surgeries in a short bit of time. You were very early in your recovery from both surgeries. Time will heal all wounds and make your result more even.

Many women find one breast is larger, more swollen, or more tender after surgery, even without having a hematoma. You will have even more swelling due to having a second surgery and because a hematoma usually increases swelling and delays healing a little. Trust in your doctor and be patient. Usually things are much more even in a month or two. Also remember, that women rarely have perfect symmetry before surgery, and that is also true after surgery. I always say that breasts are sisters, not twins.

Your left side has now had two operations plus the tissues were a bit stressed having a hematoma for a few days. All this would lead to longer swelling on the left than the right. Give some time and It should resolve but show the difference to your surgeon at your next visit.

Thank you for your question.  After a hematoma, the breast tissues swell and it takes time for it to resolve.  Your larger side is larger because it is more swollen after experiencing a hematoma. The right side has recovered more since it did not have a hematoma.  GIve it some time.  As the swelling resolves, they should get closer in size.  Best wishes.

Sometimes after a washout of a hematoma, the breast with the previous hematoma has more swelling post-op. Best to follow closely with your surgeon.

After the additional, more recent surgery on the left breast, I would be surprised if the left was not more swollen than the right at this stage. I would expect this to resolve, but it may take a little longer than normal due to the additional inflammatory response created by the hematoma. Be patient and you should have a nice result.

At this point after surgery it is normal for one breast to seem larger, be sitting higher, and feel tighter. Especially because you had the hematoma, the left breast will take longer to settle. Even if a patient has no issue after surgery it can take 1-3 months to see the final result of a breast augmentation.
