I really don't like how unnatural my nose feels when I make expressions. Would it be possible to remove my columella strut during a revision? My nose is also too high and overprojected so I do not mind if it drops alot.

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty It all depends. It depends on why was it put there to begin with. Potentially if you needed it because your tip was very droopy, it would be unwise to remove it completely. Given that, it is possible for the plastic surgeon during your revision to either replace the strut or modify it, both in shape and size. In this way, your overprojection and rotation can be decreased and any excess colummelar show addressed as well. This unnatural stiffness you experience may or may not be helped. It is one trade off with rhinoplasty which I tell my patients before surgery that they would have a better looking nose but their nose may be stiffer than what they are used to. Most of my patients feel that it is an acceptable compromise and will much prefer a good looking stable nose which is stiff than an unstable poor looking nose that is soft. I would advise you to go to your original surgeon to address this concern before you go to other consults with surgeons. I hope this helps, best of luck !
