It depends. This needs an in-person evaluation. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone which can help with hair regrowth and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Hello, Dr. George Abrahamian here from LA FUE Hair Clinic in Pasadena, CA. It depends on the extent of trauma to the area, but the vast majority of the time the area will recover, especially if it is a one time trauma. You can get a professional evaluation and see if platelet rich plasma injections or stem cell/exosome therapy can be beneficial for you as well. However, repeated trauma to the area can reduce the follicles ability to grow hair. For example, people who experience trichotillomania (pulling their own hair out constantly) can cause so much trauma to their hair follicles that hair will no longer grow in those areas. Similarly, trauma from traction can also cause alopecia, so hair should be in a relaxed state far more often than pulled in a tight bun/ponytail/braids or cornrows. I hope this helps!
Hi there thank you for your question it must have been very disstressful to have this happen to you! Yes you will have hair growth in a couple of months as long as you have a healthy scalp and there is no scarring in your scalp.
If this is a single incident, and it was just hair (i.e. the scalp skin didn't come off with it) the hair should recover during the next year, though you won't see much with the naked eye for a few months. Pulling hair out repeatedly can over time led to permanent loss. If it doesn't the area can be easily treated with hair transplantation or scalp micropigmentation.
Probably. The hair you see is in the anlagen phase, but new hair is in a different phase so it takes time to re-sprout. Give it 4-5 months and see what happens.
Hi, Likely after an altercation that you describe, your hair will grow back over the course of a few months. Pulling the hair out by the roots once is unlikely to cause permanent damage,Dr. Robert Jones
Yes, your hair should grow back. The altercation caused the hair shaft to be removed, but the actual follicular unit is still in place. Since the follicular unit is the area of the hair that actually grows the hair, the hair should return after a few months. In patients that have a continuous pull on their hair, like a hair weave, then they may suffer from traction alopecia, and may have permanent hair loss.
it depends, if the root came out then it will not grow back but if it wasn’t then it will grow back.
When hair is pulled out, it usually comes back after it goes through a telogen phase. You will not know for about 6 months and then you should see growth starting back at most by then
