I had a labiaplasty 4 days ago and although everything seems to be healing ok I have a large collection of dried blood that is stuck to my stitches near my clitoral hood which hangs down when I stand up, my surgeon said not to worry that it will come away in its on time but it's freaking me out as I can't clean the stitches under it, is there anything I can do to help clean this quicker?

Answer: Labiaplasty Recovery Hello. The responses from the other doctors are excellent suggestions. Loosening the clot with ointments or water will break and release the collection. You could use a clean bottle or cup filled with warm clean water and gently pour it over the clot to help moistened it throughout the day (over the toilet works well). It is a quick and easy way to help break it up over time. Any aggressive rubbing or pulling could disrupt your sutures which could cause complications. During your next follow up, your doctor can possibly help remove it. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
