How do I know if I have nerve damage in my Labiaplasty?

The entire female genital region is covered with a network of sensory nerves. When sensory nerves are damaged, they no longer transmit sensations and you would experience numbness, or lack of sensation, around the damaged nerves. You are describing pain, not numbness, 10 weeks after a labiaplasty. This is not a sign of nerve damage. The nerves which carry pain sensations are working perfectly. This is most likely to be from slower than average dissolving of suture material than anything else. If this is the case, the pain will resolve when the suture material has completely dissolved. Of course, without examining you, this is just an educated guess.

Some people may take longer to heal and may have sensitivity at their scars longer than others.  If this is something that is really bothering you, you can ask your surgeon about medication for irritated nerves.  

Although most patients with labiaplasty are healed and without pain after 3 or 4 months, scars can be sensitive for up to a year or more.  Without examining you it is difficult to give you specifics, other than follow up with your surgeon and make sure you tell him/her all your symptoms. Having a regular follow up with your regular gynecologist is also a good idea.  Best,
