Pain around my lower spine after Lipo. Any suggestions? (photos)

Question

I am 6 days post op. I had lipo to my inner and outer thighs, flanks, abdominal and arms as well as breast lift (mini) with augmentation. I am experiencing an extreme amount of pain around my lower spine. Is this normal?

Extreme pain isnt normal and I suggest speaking to your physician.  You look very bruised so this may be a consequence of your aggressive procedure but you want to ensure there is no infection, seroma, or hematoma.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Lower back pain after liposuction can be normal if tissues were suctioned around the lower back.  This can be from swelling or even from the garment.  However, if the pain is extreme and doesn't get better with moving around or removing your garment, you should go see your physician.

It's normal to have pain after surgery, but if you're very concerned you should see your plastic surgeon to make sure nothing else is going on.

Thank you very much for your question.It is not uncommon to have pain following extensive liposuction, and discomfort in the lower back is very common.  Not many people have "extreme" pain though.  I recommend contacting your doctor to discuss your symptoms, they may want to see you in-person for an examination.  Best of luck!
