I had Polytech 340cc Buttock implants Intramuscular 3 years ago after recovery period which was fairly uneventful I went back to everything I did before no problems. I wanted to go bigger I see Polytech do a 560cc buttock implant would that make a visible difference from a 340cc implant ? I do not have fat for a fat transfer. Would there be space intramuscular to accommodate a bigger implant as my first surgeon said I could only fit a 340cc implant. Thankyou

Answer: Upsizing gluteal implant I like breast implants gluteal implants are highly dependent on pelvic and gluteus muscle size. You need to be examined and measured by a board-certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience with this procedure. Since everything went well with your first procedure I would highly recommend you contact your previous plastic surgeon and discuss options with him or her. With breast implants diameter of implant isn’t as important and there are more variables in regards to profile. With gluteal implants it’s key to not extend beyond the natural anatomic periphery of the implant space. Doing so puts patients at risk for significantly increased complications. Often complications with gluteal implants leads to implant failure and loss of implants. Since this procedure has a fairly high complication rate to start with staying on the conservative side is prudent. Follow up with your provider. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
