I had rhinoplasty two years ago and I feel my nose is now too short for my face (it is slightly upturned now too) i have had a consultation for revision rhinoplasty and it would be mainly tip and nostril work. Would having a lip lift after that affect the result seeing as the scar would be in roughly the same place?? Or would it be better having the lip lift first? Also, how long do you leave it between procedures?
Answer: Lip lift and rhinoplasty Great question. I see Dr. Spiegel commented on this - he recently published an article noting the safety of doing the procedure at the same time. Previously some doc's were concerned with healing issues and blood supply when doing both at the same time, but more and more docs are doing them together and Dr. Spiegel contributed to the literature with a great paper detailing outcomes in patients having both procedures at the same time. The advantage of doing them both together is, obviously, that your recovery time is shortened to just a one time event. However if you would feel more comfortable doing them at different times, I usually recommend 6 months after rhinoplasty for lip lift as I am on the conservative side and like the nose to be as close to healed as possible before doing anything. The last thing that you want is to prolong swelling in the nasal tip or cause distortion of the nasal sill/base. Best of luck! I hope some of this helps.

Answer: Lip Lift Thank you for your question. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to learn more about your aesthetic needs and desires. Performing a rhinoplasty and lip lift at the same time allows recovery time to be shorter than if you did each of them as a separate procedure broken up over time. It also creates more natural and pleasing results than if you were to perform the procedures separately. Best wishes,

Answer: Both at same time Might as well, right? You'll have less recovery and less expense. The key is to find an experienced surgeon. I just published the world's first article on doing these procedures together and we've done it many times safely so it can be done!

Answer: Liplift It does not matter which one you do first. Ideally you can do it at the same time to save yourself the trouble of recovering twice. If you do the rhinoplasty first, wait 2-3 months or until the swelling comes down in columella/upper lip. Sometimes swelling goes down quickly and you don't have to wait that long. Best wishes.

Answer: Nose These procedures can be performed at the same time which would have the added benefit of only one recovery period.
