Can I have Botox 3 days before 2nd stage of implant surgery on my tooth?

I am due to have the 2 nd stage of implant surgery on my tooth 3 days after Botox which involves reopening the gum and placing the abundment into the rod that has already been put there. Is this safe , worried the vibrations might cause the Botox to spread.

Hi,Thank you for your question.Yes, it's safe to have Botox 3 days before your dental implant procedure.Botox effects are limited to the muscle group being targeted. Dental procedures 3 days after Botox will not have any effect on your results.Some providers may recommend avoiding dental procedures 2 weeks before/after filler treatments as a transient bacteremia may increase the risk for infection due to the foreign product placement (filler). Because Botox/Dysport is a purified protein that is typically absorbed into the cells 1 hour after injection, there is not a concern with it.Hope this helps!

Hi kimmymoff, thanks for your question. Having dental surgery 3 days after Botox should not be a problem. By then the botox is already in place  (in fact, we generally assume the risk of spread to be limited to the first 4 hours after injection) and should not be impacted by your surgery at all. Yes, you can have Botox 3 days before your procedure. There is no restrictions 24hours after having Botox. Hope this helps.

As Botox acts locally, having the 2nd stage of an implant surgery on your tooth 
3 days after Botox should not affect either your surgery or treatment.  
Typically, Botox has fully bonded within two days after the injection.  Just let your
doctor and dentist know beforehand and you should have nothing to worry about

It should be fine to have your Botox treatment 3 days prior to your oral procedure.  The vibrations will not cause the Botox to migrate.  The results from Botox can be seen 7-14 days after treatment and last 3-4 months.

Botox is safe for your time frame prior to dental work, however, avoid dental work after having filler placed for at least 2 weeks. I hope this helps!
