I am 5 years post op and am really noticing how uneven my breasts are, it seems as if my right breast has dropped but the left reminds very upright, when I first had them done I did notice a slight difference but now I am worried they are going to get worse and worse. Do I need them corrected now or can I hold on another 5 years until my next op? Will they worsen as time goes on? Is this common? Thank you
Answer: Uneven If your breasts bother you now, then get them fixed. Otherwise, wear a good supporting bra during the day and have surgery if/when you are ready. There is no urgency.

Answer: Redo breasts augmentation. Dear Ria, Thanks for posting your pictures and sorry for your problems. From observing your pictures the following is noticed:1. Right breast bottomed out. This requires inferior capsulorrhaphy (internal bra) in order to raise the crease and create symmetry with left breast.2. Right breast bigger, so to achieve symmetry, you will need smaller implant on the right side or bigger on the left side.3. The nipple areola complexes are positioned too lateral due to lateral capsule contracture or insufficient lateral dissection of the pocket. Lateral capsulotomy (scar release) will solve that problem.4. Wide cleavage. Bilateral medial capsulotomy will give much nicer cleavage. In regard to the timing of the corrective surgery it is a personal decision. It appears that you are bothered by the breasts appearance, so, rather than living with the unhappy situation have it fixed. On the other hand, it will not get much worse, so if that is your preference , you can do it in 5 years. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of redo breasts augmentation in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky, symmetrical and natural looking. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Revision surgery Dear ria454, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals. Answer: 5 years post op, uneven breasts, one higher than the other. Do I need them corrected now? Hello, thank you for your question. Pictures from before your procedure would be necessary, sorry that you didn't get the result that you expected. A second opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon would help clarify issues.

Answer: 5 years post op, uneven breasts, one higher than the other. Do I need them corrected now? While it is my opinion that your breast presentation will continue to change over the next 5 years, I do not believe there is any urgency to getting the surgery done right away. When you decide to get them done, you will have multiple options and I believe that will serve you very well for many years following that operation as well. Best wishes. WirthPlasticSurgery.com
