I am 5’7, 135-140 lbs. Chest circumference is 34 inches. I am a 34A bra. I just had my pre surgery consultation and have surgery in about 3 weeks. We decided on two 410 cc implants. I’m scared that my left boob will remain noticeably much bigger than the other. Should I go ahead and get 440 cc in my smaller boob? Will I achieve more symmetry this way? Or should I stick to what I have, and get the same size implant in both? I am scared of having even MORE asymmetry if I choose diff implant sizes.

Answer: Breast asymmetry When performing breast augmentation in women with different sized breasts, the choice is always to use the same size implants in both breasts, versus using a larger implant in the smaller breast. Sometimes, the volume symmetry looks better with different sized implants, but it creates other aspects that look uneven. Talk to your surgeon more specifically about what he/she feels like your outcome would be with either approach so you can make an informed decision. Hope that helps. Best of luck!

Answer: Implant selection If you place the same sized implants in each breast you will have the same amount of asymmetry after surgery as you do now. Selecting differently sized implants is an option to improve asymmetry, but it is an educated guess by your surgeon as to what size difference would be best. The size difference you are speaking about-30 cc- is equivalent to two tablespoons of volume. Your surgeon will help you decide what is recommended for you.
