It’s important to distinguish between varicose veins and spider veins when choosing between laser therapy, sclerotherapy, and vein surgery. With two board certified vein specialists, our center uses a combination of visual examination, functional flow measurements, ultrasound, transillumination, and infrared light to map out vein networks prior to therapy. Lasers can be used to treat deep varicose vein insufficiency, vein perforators, and varicose veins. Sclerotherapy is ideal for spider veins and reticular veins. Whereas surgery is reserved for severely incompetent varicose vein segments. Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Spider veins can easily be removed with laser treatment. The Cutera ExcelV is the machine we use in our office. The laser energy will target the red blood cells in the vein and once the laser hits the red blood cells, they burst, striking the wall of the vessel and collapses them. You will have some redness and mild swelling for a few hours to a day, depending on your skin's sensitivity, which can easily be covered by makeup.
There are several ways to treat facial viens. IPL photofacials, cauterizing with a heat probe or laser energy will usually cause these viens to collapse and disapear.
Thanks for the question and posting pictures. There are several causes of broken capillaries. As we age, there are changes in the collagen of both the skin and the small capillaries, which may cause them to weaken and become more visible. Depending your skin type, we would probably recommend a series of IPL PhotoFacials to lessen their appearance. If they are difficult to reach with the IPL handpiece, we sometime cauterize them with an electronic surgical needle. Best of luck.
Those little vessels around the nose can easily be treated with a KTP-YAG laser. This laser works very well for any facial spider capillaries an the face and usually they can be treated with one to three treatments. Sometimes those nasal vessels are stubborn and every once in a while we will have to use the ND-YAG to eliminate them. Best of luck to you,Dr. Amy
there are many great treatment options for these. Sometimes, these come from smoking. If that is the case, you should start by trying to quit. Sometimes they are caused by Sunday image. That Sunday match is usually from several years back. We always recommend sunscreen. Some people are just prone to them. They can be treated with laser or thermocoagulation. We use a VeinWave treatment. It takes about 15 minutes. We are playing them and cream for her to make you comfortable. Most patients just need one or two treatments. Treatments do have to be repeated every several years as new vans tend to form.
Very fine spider veins on the face such as the ones visible in the photos above respond well to ohmic thermolysis such as VeinGogh
Although the pictures are not clear, I would treat these fine veins with micro needle radio frequency. The procedure takes only a few minutes and can be done easily with a topical anesthetic.
