One of the main things that give away age is your hands, and my hands over the last few years have really bothered me to the point where I stopped wearing rings and started feeling really self conscious of my bulging veins in my hands. After religiously keeping up with Botox and fillers on my face it was a bummer to feel great and then have my hands throw everything off. I have the hands of someone 20 years older than I am. Anyways so I started googling treatments and decided to go with East Bay Vein clinic where I saw an advertising for a treatment call handscaping which is basically sclerotherapy… on your hands. Scheduling was quick and easy, deposit of 100 is required and applied to cost at time of treatment. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions and the office was clean with a chill vibe. The Dr was friendly and had a good personality, he had a humor about him that made me feel at ease, I showed him my hands and he went over the details needed and then I paid (they accept care credit!) and the procedure started. So it’s quick and pretty painless. You place you hand on top of a tiny square pillow and dr puts a tourniquet on your wrist and then You feel a tiny stick from the needle. It doesn’t hurt. He takes about 10 minutes on each hand and puts a wad of gauze over injection site and wraps your hands, not too tight just slight compression. And that was it.. took about 25 minutes total. You have to leave the wraps on all night… after the procedure my hands did feel a bit sensitive and sore but it was mild. You cannot lift anything heavy for 24hrs. The following day at the 24 hour mark I took of my bandages and my hands are swollen and they look pretty good considering full results take a couple months.. so the swelling seems to be hiding my veins now but I know as swelling goes down the veins are supposed to disappear and dissolve over the next few weeks. So far I’m happy with this decision, and I feel the results are going to come out good. I go back to the dr in a month to check the progress.. I’ll be sure to check back in to let you all know if I still think it was worth it! Updated on 9 Nov 2023: My hands look not too good right now, but it part of the healing process… results are not instant..they look worse before they look better. So I went through swelling that made my hands look good for a few days but after it subsided all of my veins and maybe even a few that I hadn’t noticed before popped up and look lumpy and hard, the veins are blue and more obvious than ever.. the tops of my hands are sensitive. I opted for using compression gloves because it feel better. Especially while trying to handle my daily task. I’m also kinda embarrassed by how they look at the moment so I’m hiding them until they look good! I have a dr appointment at the end of the month so ill keep you posted~ Updated on 3 Jan 2024: Hands are still lumpy with unsightly dying veins that need to dissolve. They are painless now just feel hard and the move around under the skin… but They are making improvement though.. I got this done at the end of October and it is now January so its taking a while for my final results.. Updated on 22 Apr 2024: It took a while for all the veins to disappear but now that they almost completely have it’s like looking at a whole new set of hands. It was totally worth it. You have to trust the process… it’s amazing to see them looking younger and prettier. I was always self conscious and it’s good to no longer worry about my hands in pictures and now I’m even wearing rings again. Updated on 23 Apr 2024: It was worth it and I recommend this procedure to anyone who has bulging unsightly veins on their hands. My veins have slowly disappeared over the last 6 months. I’m starting to wear rings confidently again. My hands look much better.
He is so amazing. A doctor with a kind heart. I was so nervous he played music on his computer for me. He actually started singing. That made me relax. He even waved the fees to help me. A real human.
Absolutely amazing results! I never write reviews, but I am so grateful for Dr. Malvehy and his vein treatments, that I want to share my story in the hopes of helping anyone else who suffers with ugly and painful veins. I developed huge veins all over my left leg, from my foot all the way up to my groin, when I was pregnant 18 years ago. After two more pregnancies, the veins continued to get larger, and more rope-like, especially behind my knee. I went to doctors all over the state, who tried all different procedures, techniques, and even surgery, to help my vein problem. Nothing worked at all! I decided that I would just live with it. I would have to deal with the uncomfortable leg pressure and wear pants for the rest of my life....Until 8 months ago when I went to see Dr. Malvehy. I walked into his office just to show him one large bubble like vein that bothered me the most. When he saw my leg, he confidently felt that he could help the whole thing! His confidence, kindness and gentle manner, made me decide to give this vein thing one more try. After a few treatments, and a few months, I can honestly say that my veins are almost completely gone! The big rope like ones were the first to go, followed by the small cosmetic ones. I can wear shorts now, and I have no more pressure in my left leg. I really felt like I needed to say all of this, because no one should have to walk around like I did, with painful and ugly veins when treatments with Dr.Malvehy exist.
Dr. Malvehy was very professional, thoughtful, respectful and extremely professional when it came to my appointment. He was very thorough, and answered all my questions He made me feel comfortable and explain to me all the different options for my treatment. I strongly recommend Dr. Malvehy, he is one of kind with a kind and warm personality. If you choose Dr. Malvehy to take care of you, I can reasure you that from the moment you walk into his clinic from the front desk to his assistants, you will be treated like Royalty
Dr. Malvehy was great in every way possible. He was very detailed and very pacient with all of my concerns. The staff was also very warm and helpful with all the questions I had prior to my appointment and at the time of my departure from the office. A big thanks to the Doctor and his wonderful staff!
I just visited Dr Malvehy in his Delray office . I went in for a consult and had another office to visit as I know to get more that one consult! Well, I felt so comfortable with him and he answered every question with no pressure to have it done by him. As luck would have it...and our weather, time became available for me to stay and have procedures done and YES PLEASE was all I could say. I sit here with my compression stockings KNOWING that underneath them Dr gave me excellent results. Brilliant and Kind. 5Star Dr!
When it comes to veins, Dr. Malvehy takes the throne! I went in for my consult regarding annoying and unsightly spider and varicose veins and was pleasantly greeted by his kind and attentive staff when I arrived. There is little to no wait time, and the office is clean and very nice! Dr. Malvehy knows what he's doing and he was quickly able to diagnose me and offer me a treatment plan that was fair and effective! I was treated with sclerotherapy injections and thus far, I am beyond satisfied with his bedside manners, his extensive knowledge, his staff, the office, AND my results. I still have some treatments remaining, but so far, so GOOD! Highly recommend!
Dr. Malvehy was great. He took his time and answered all of my questions. He made me very comfortable before, during and after my procedure - which turned out great. I highly recommend him and will be going back myself.
If you are looking for a kind and caring doctor at the top of his game, look no further than Dr. Malvehy! His bedside manner along with his expertise will put you at ease. Booking an appointment is as painless as the procedures!
best vein specialist and vascular surgeon. I had spider veins and had gone to two vein specialist. I was treated with Laser and sclerotherapy . The treatments were a failure. I went to doctor Malvehy and he removed the spider veins. He used the Vein Wave technology. The procedure was painless and quick. Doctor Malvehy gave me personal attention, answered all my questions and was very courteous. The office staff was efficient and very pleasant . I was seen at my appointment time, did not have to wait. I highly recommend Dr. Malvehy, he is an expert in his field. He will give you a durable solution by performing the diagnostic tests himself and giving you the most up-to-date treatments. He was able to remove the spider veins, other doctors could not.
You have trapped blood in varicose veins that are closed and it needs to be drained with some local anesthetic. Any family practice doctor, urgent care, vein specialist, surgeon, dermatologist, etc can do this. Rhofade will not help. Do yourself a favor (between pregnancies). Google ABVLM - it stands for American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine - and find a doctor near you. Go to the doctor. Get an ultrasound. Get the root of your variocse veins treated and get on with your life. Educate your OB/GYN that varicose veins are not normal and they don't magically disappear after pregnancy - they are still there and they will only get worse with time. It's 2019. You don't have to suffer with this.
EVLT does not treat spider veins. It is used to treat underlying circulation problems in those that have them. More than likely, you just need a more skilled sclerptherapy provider.
This vein is indeed the angular vein. It shares circulation with the eyes and drains into a portion of the brain. It is not safe to close this vessel with injection as it may result in blindness or other catastrophic injury. The only potential treatment would be surgical ligation by an experienced oculoplastic surgeon.
It is likely the great saphenous vein or a branch of the great saphenous vein or a varicose vein that is early. You may also just be quite thin and have little subcutaneous fat. If it is remotely uncomfortable, go to a reputable vein physician (find one through the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, the ABVLM) and get an ultrasound.
Neck veins are supposed to be more prominent at different times. They are an important part of your circulation and should not be removed.
