I have enlarged hand veins ever since I was in middle school. Ive been considering sclerotherapy or phlebectomy for awhile now. What are the dangers and side effects in the future? Is a blood clot possible down the road? Death? Could I end up with even more enlarged veins after the treated ones collapse? Seems scary to remove veins. I really dislike how they look and hope I can get it treated safely. Im even considering fillers first, because Im lean. Not sure if fillers help tho.
I have a bulging dilated vein Running down the right side of my nose into my tear trough. It also has a very heavy pulse to it. I first noticed it a year and a half ago. Within the last year, it has become larger, and the pulse has become heavier. I have seen several doctors and no luck. The last doctor I saw was a vascular doctor that owned a laser clinic and she would not touch it. She recommended that I see an ear nose and throat doctor. Again no luck. PLEASE HELP
I'm looking into having the bulging veins on my hands removed with sclerotherapy (only the back of my hands, not the arms). I've had a full ultrasound checkup of all blood vessels in both of my arms/hands and have no counter indications to this procedure. The issue is that I live in a country where removal of hand veins, unless it's a medical issue, is not usually done, although it seems to be a common cosmetic procedure in the West. I found a doctor who successfully performed this procedure in the past, however she is reluctant to do it again. She says there's a 60% chance of getting serious complications after this procedure, and she named side effects such as swelling of hands that never resolves, as well as severe wrinkling of the hand skin that cannot be corrected. I suspect she is trying to scare me due to her reluctance to perform this procedure, because I was not able to find any information about such side effects. In fact, it appears that the satisfaction rate for this procedure is pretty high and side effects are temporary, even if performed in the elderly (I'm in my 30s). So my question is, are you aware of any serious long-term side effects after hand vein sclerotherapy, and if yes - how common are they? Please don't try to dissuade me from getting this procedure - I know that it's considered a cosmetic issue, not a medical one, and I'm simply trying to make an informed decision. Thank you!
I got surgery years ago, it developed into a keloid. I got CROSS, subcision, Poly-L-Lactic Acid Injections b/c it was a dent before. Now's it's flat which is great however after than treatment it stained my skin and made the scar more red with veins. I've been getting PDL however I feel it is working but taking a very long time. I got one chemical peel, need to do more but I'm curious, it looks like the scar turned into veins, can I do sclerotherapy on this scar? Please lmk what is best option
I am a 21y/o F + my skin translucency has ruled my life; I have no confidence as a result + have tried covering them up to no avail. My GP said they are just surface veins + there's no reason why something couldn't be done. H/e a vascular surgeon advised against sclerotherapy + phlebotomy due to associated risks + advised I see another vascular surgeon as there may be an underlying concern as to why I am like I am. Is my vivid network of chest veins a concern + is there a way of treating them?
My fathers palm has a vein which get a little big and he can feel it pulsing. Today it suddenly got really swollen, as you see in the picture attached. He placed some ice and it got better. But now there's a bruise. What's that?!!
