It's a good question. It's always a good idea to check with your plastic surgeon for their exact advice after your surgery. In my office, I recommend that patients avoid heavy cardiovascular exercise for four weeks and avoid chest exercises for six weeks. If implants are placed under the muscle, then it's best to wait six weeks for activities that activate the chest muscles.
Hello,Thank you for your question. I typically advise my BBA patients to avoid cardio exercise for 3 weeks post op and upper body workouts or heavy lifting for 6 weeks post op.I recommend that you get your Plastic Surgeon to clear you for increased activity if you aren't sure. All the best
Discuss with your doctor. I'd typically recommend waiting a couple of weeks before any heavy exercise, and maybe 4-6 weeks before any heavy chest muscular activities such as weight lifting.
Thank you for your question. When it comes to post operative instructions, it is always best to first consult with your operating surgeon as they are familiar with your recovery experience. That being said, typically we advise our patients to wait a minimum of two weeks before engaging in in any activitiers that increase their heart rates. Best regards,Dr. Lane F. Thank you for your question. We ask that our patients refrain from riding a bile for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks there are no restrictions. All the best,
I tell my breast augmentation patients that at 1-2 weeks after their procedure they may begin riding a bicycle.
I would permit use of an exercise bike a week or so after the procedure. Because of the danger of crashing on a road bike I would ask the patient refrain for at least four weeks after the operation.
Doctors may vary in the recommendationsand the restrictions may vary depending onthe technique utilize. In general I would advise4-6 weeks.
Hi and thanks for your question. This is something you have to discuss wit your plastic surgeon, it might depend on whether the implants were placed under or over the muscle. I usually recommend my patients to start light exercise like walking 4 weeks after the surgery and gradually increase it.Best wishes.Dr. Milla
HiIf my patients incisions are well healed then bike riding after 2 weeks is fine as it places no more stress on the wound than walking does. Make sure you wear a supportive sports type bra with no underwiring.Happy cycling
Hello,This is not caused by muscle tension, so you do not have to take the a muscle relaxing pill. If there is a question of capsular contracture, there are no pills to take as well that have been shown to be effective. Similarly, implant massage exercises do not prevent or treat capsular ...
I advise my patients that for the first few days, they will need to depend on someone else to lift their child. Beginning on Day 3 (if they had surgery on Monday, Day 3 is Thursday), they can lift a child baby – when necessary – into and out of a crib, high chair or car seat. This restri...
Hello,I recommend that you wait until 6 months to assess results. It can take between 2-6 months for breast implants to settle and with large implants This is not unusual. Let your Plastic Surgeon know about any concerning changes. All the best
In my opinion, there is no evidence that the type of bra that is worn once the breasts have settled(after about three months post-op) will make any difference in the breasts over the long run. So you should wear whatever is comfortable and suits your fashion sense. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. Nobody can predict the exact risk of you developing a capsular contracture. I do believe infection does increase your risk. I have seen reports as high as 25% at 5 years. This does not mean you will develop a CC. Best of luck
Thank you for your question. In general insurance companies do not view corrective surgery for breast asymmetries, even large ones, as medically necessary and will not cover the procedure. That said, if your larger implant is causing you significant issues from a neck/back pain point of v...
