I had lipo of Dec 21 & had some skin laxity. I am wanting a tummy tuck to correct, however a little anxious and nervous. Would I need a full tummy tuck? I definitely can feel the separation between my abs from having a child in 2017, so I know that would probably be a yes. My question is, with my amount of loose skin or even lack of, would a tummy tuck be worth it? I just want my ab definition to come through again.
Answer: Full tummy tuck You appear to have enough loose skin above your belly button as well as below, therefore a full tummy tuck may be suitable for you. This would tighten the loose skin and repair abdominal muscle separation at the same time.

Answer: Tummy Tuck after Liposuction It does appear that you will benefit from a tummy tuck! Unfortunately we can't always predict how the skin will respond after liposuction, and it can leave patients with excess skin and poor skin texture. You appear to have enough skin to remove with a traditional tummy tuck, and this will also address the muscle separation that you have from pregnancy at the same time. This is your best bet at getting a flat, tight, abdomen. Good luck!

Answer: Tummy Tuck & Liposuction Thank you for your questions and photos. A tummy tuck will address excess skin & repair of the abdominal muscle. The abdominal wall can be weakened after pregnancy and (or) significant weight gain & loss. By repairing the muscle, not only does the appearance of your abdominal area improve, but your core strength as well. The repair of the muscle will cinch your waist like an inner corset, which will accentuate your curves. Liposuction will remove excess fat from unwanted areas with some skin retraction. Your expectations and health will dictate the best procedure(s) for you. I suggest a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to go over the options that best address your goals. Answer: Can You Get a Tummy Tuck One-Year After Liposuction? Thank you for your question regarding what to do with your abdomen after having liposuction done approximately a year ago. Let's examine your pictures and your situation. You have excess skin, some residual excess fat, a history of liposuction, and stretch marks. This all leads to a tummy tuck. If you have further liposuction, your results will get worse, not better. Therefore, I would suggest a tummy tuck. In regards to regular versus full tummy tuck, I would suggest a full tummy tuck. A full tummy tuck will get rid of more skin, repair damaged muscle, and give you a better-looking belly button. In my opinion, the tummy tuck scar would be worth getting rid of all of your loose, hanging skin. If you want further abdominal definition to show through, you'll have to exercise after the tummy tuck or consider VASER abdominal etching to help "pop" the muscles. All in all, I would highly suggest a full tummy tuck for optimal results. It is important that you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in tummy tucks. It is important also to examine the abdomen to make sure there is no residual scar tissue from the prior liposuction of the abdomen. However, at a year out and by looking at your pictures, the skin appears to be loose and I think you would benefit significantly from a full tummy tuck. Thank you for your question and good luck. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.
