Based on your photos you have a very nice body shape already, the 2 issues are: 1.- you have a high positioned belly button, which in your case will be impossible to remove the skin at that level. So you will end up with a short vertical right above the Tummy Tuck incision and avoid completely the incision being high. 2.- the prior procedure you had done which let you with the lumpy appearance abd fibrosis (internal scar tissue) and most likely will prevent the skin to be pulled down completely to the pubic bone. So your surgeon must decided if a vertical above incision or a floated belly button. Both with great results. Be encouraged!!! Dr. Cárdenas
Hi, thank you for sharing your question. You are a good candidate for mini tummy tuck. You should expect great results with a low lying/hidden scar. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.
Thank you for your question regarding what kind of results you can expect when getting a tummy tuck with a short torso. During the tummy tuck, muscle plication will be performed and will take off 2-4 inches from your waistline. This will likely help give you the appearance of a longer torso and more hourglass shape. I'm curious if you are concerned about scar placement with a "short torso." You can choose whether you want your scar hidden lower, just over the pubic region and extended out, or if you'd prefer a high-lateral tension tummy tuck. This would start low over the pubic region, then be carried out and over the hips (to give the ultimate hourglass shape). The downside of this is that when wearing low rider jeans or certain swimsuits, the scar may be visible.I hope this helps answer your question regarding what kind of results you can expect when having a "short torso". Sincerely,Dr. Katzen
Hello and thank you for your question.Based on the photos, you appear to have good muscle tone and the only way to address the excess skin and to achieve flat abdominal contour, would be through a tummy tuck. You may be a candidate for a mini tummy tuck to limit the extent of the incision and limit the scar.I would recommend to obtain an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss your options and expectations.I hope this helps.Best,Dr. KaranetzDr. Irena KaranetzFellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
If you are not planning future pregnancies, I recommend abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement. The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Dear Babyboy7,based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. I would expect a nice result with a well-placed, low scar and improvement in your skin excess and muscle laxity. Hope this helps.
Those with a short torso can have very nice results from a tummy tuck. During the procedure excess fat and skin is removed and abdominal wall laxity is corrected. The result will be a tighter flatter tummy. Liposuction can be added for additional contouring. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.
It almost appears that you may have had liposuction of your abdomen and sides in the past? You should have very good results with an abdominoplasty provided the anterior abdominal skin is loose enough to advance to the pelvic area. If you are too tight, a residual umbilical scar may be present just above the abdominoplasty scar. I am NOT a fan of the umbilical float. I have had multiple patients consult me to repair the abdominal appearance with a low lying belly button.Dr. Taranow
The real question is are you a candidate for Full TT or a extended mini TT? Best to seek in person or virtual consultations. Fees vary from $5,000-$20,000.
I'm really sorry to hear that you're still experiencing significant discomfort more than a year after your procedures. This is certainly not the norm, and it's important that you get this addressed promptly. Pain this long after a tummy tuck, muscle reconstruction, and buttock lift is unusual....
Hello and thank you for your question. Check with your surgeon for his or hers recommendation on this. Best of luck!
In order to make an assessment on the outcome of a surgical procedure it is helpful to see before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures ask your surgeon to forward the ones they took. I recommend patients not travel long distances for elective surgical procedures b...
