Dear Peera,thank you for your post. Without photos or a physical exam it is difficult to assess. Assuming you had a submuscular implant, the muscle is weakened along the sternum in order to allow the implants to be more central and give better cleavage rather a gap. This lifting of the muscle may be causing the pain, maybe a recent strain in the muscle with a certain movement or lifting weight, or it could be that you developed a contracture in this area causing pain. Thank you for your question. During a sub-muscular breast augmentation the muscle attachment to the breast bone is cut to make room for the implant. Depending on how much muscle was cut pain new the breast bone after sub-muscular augmentation can be a significant problem in the first few weeks after breast augmentation. However this eventually resolves and I would expect to feel better by 6-8 weeks. Of course check with your plastic surgeon for an exam.
The feeling if heaviness after augmentation is completely normal. There is no treatment needed. You will become accustom to the weight and will adjust.
