I am 5'3", and 125-130, 400cc or 500cc?

I am thinking of getting 500 silicone implants. Do you think those will appear to large? Me doc recommended between 400-500. Thank you

The answer is a combination of what is right and what your desire is, when a patient wants an implant that is larger than what I feel their body can accept I will use a smaller implant and add fat on top of it. Big implants will stretch you out in the long runGOOD LUCK

Thank you for your question. It is much better to accurately discuss implant volume and projection with an in office exam and detailed measurements. In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements/characteristics. I use these measurements to help me during the sizing process to guide you to a safe result for your chest wall and just as important, one that meets your end desires.The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you during the sizing process. In addition, review of photos and use of rice bags can be very helpful to the patient and surgeon in achieving a safe and happy result. Close intereaction and involvement from your surgeon during this process can help alleviate the anxiety and fears of choosing the right size. I wish you a safe recovery and fantastic result.Dr. Gill

Yes, 500 cc implants are large for your height and weight. Without a history, examination, and/or pictures, it is difficult to give you more advice. The total cost of the surgery is $4100 plus the cost of the implants.The cost includes the Board Certified Professional fee, Board Certified Anesthesia fee, and Medicare approved facility fee. Saline implants cost $1000/pair and Silicone implants are ~$1500/pair.Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question.  First I recommend that you follow the advice of the plastic surgeon who is examine you and done the appropriate breast measurements.  One issue you should considerIs that breast implants 500 cc and larger are subject increased potential complications such as capsular contracture. It is not possible to suggest which size is better without examining you and getting a sense of what you would like. I usually show before and after photos to get a sense of what the patient likes. I believe that breast implants should end up being natural looking, and not appearing like watermelons in the chest. To that extent I take a careful history, conduct a thourough examination and review lots of before and after photos. These steps, I believe, are important to be ale to best decide what size is to be used. You should consult with a Board Certified PS with extensive experience performing breast augmentation.
